As part of this year's auction theme, "NECS Art Prize," art work done by students will be on display and up for bid! A Benefit for the Martin family is planned for Saturday, October 20th, 2018, from 3:00PM-7:00PM. at the Rothbury Community Center 7180 S. Oceana Drive, Rothbury. A Spaghetti Supper is planned. $5 per person or $20.00 for a family. The evening will also include a 50/50 raffle, Silent Auction, and Bake Sale. All proceeds will benefit Chris, Colby, Caden and Addison. For more info check out the flyer on the board by the Pastor's study. New Era Christian Reformed Church "Growing in Relationship with God, with Each Other, and with our Community" Volunteers In Service is once again offering Deacon Orientation Training for all deacons or leaders who are working in the area of benevolence, justice and mercy. There are two date options, Monday, September 24 at Friendship Christian Reformed Church or Thursday, October 4 at Shawnee Park Christian Reformed Church. Training is from 7-9pm. There is no cost but to reserve your spot please Bernita Tuinenga at btuinenga@visgr.org. As we gather together in response to our Lord's call to worship, may we hear His word with gladness, respond with hearts of love and gratitude, and go forth from this place with renewed commitment to serve Him every day. Please join us for coffee and cookies following our service. A nursery for infants and toddlers is available in the basement. We also have a quiet viewing room in the Upper Room, access in the narthex, for those who need to leave the sanctuary but would like to view the worship service. The ALS System is available for those with hearing impairments. Jesus came to earth and became a human being in order to save us from sin, death, and guilt. As our Savior he is able to remove our guilt. So why is it that guilt remains a part of our life? TODAY we will look at guilt and what God says about it in his Word. PRAYER CONCERNS Patty Buursma had hernia surgery on Tuesday and is recovering at home. Jan Wiersema is having radiation treatments this week. Lois Bush and Cal Weesies are recovering and in rehab at Heartland in Whitehall. Prov.22:9 ANNOUNCEMENTS From the Deacons: We are currently working on the 2019 budget. If you are a part of a church group that has a line in the budget and you have a need for a change, or you are a part of a group that would like a line added, submit it to a Deacon in the next 3 weeks, by September 30. Thank you. The Outreach Committee had a successful Pancake Breakfast at New Era Street Festival on Saturday, September 15. A big thanks to all who worked to prepare for, serve pancakes, and clean up. Thanks also to Scott and Paula for the use of The Avenue. That made our breakfast much easier to do. We served about 130. After expenses, we are able to give both Cadets and Gems $ to start off their year. Pray for the Classis meeting being held in Big Rapids on Thursday. Pastor Greg and Dave Zoller will be attending. There are still a few tickets available for Grinnin' & Grillin' Tomorrow, September 24th from 6-8:30PM. Rothbury Community Church 2500 W. Winston Road, Rothbury.
