Parish Family Home Communities have been arranged for grades 2-6. New students must include a copy of their Baptismal certificate unless your child was baptized at the Church of the Incarnation. Extra registration forms/welcome letter may be downloaded from our website address: Those entering Gr. 9 (Sept. 2010) will receive a special invitation in Oct. for the Sacrament of Confirmation. Faith Formation (Religious Education) formally begins in First Grade. First Communion preparation begins in First Grade. SAVE THE DATE: The Archdiocesan Office for Catholic Social Justice ministry will host the First Annual Bishop Peter Rosazza Social Justice Conference, Rooted in Faith: Cultivating the Common Good, on Saturday, June 12th from 9am-3pm at St. Paul Catholic High School in Bristol. The Conference will honor Bishop Peter Rosazza for his many years of commitment to social justice in the Archdiocese of Hartford, and will feature a keynote address by well-known theologian and teacher, Reverend J. The Connecticut Department of Public Health has recently informed us that there is now little or no flu activity in the State of Connecticut. They will be visiting Corpus Christi parish in the basement on Monday, June 28 th at 6 pm for a pot luck supper with a presentation at 7 pm. All are welcome. For further information, please call Nancy Kiely at The original Brake the Cycle of Poverty Ride began on June 1, In association with the Catholic Campaign for Human Development, 24 cyclists rode for two months from San Francisco to Washington, DC to raise the consciousness of poverty in the United States, stopping along the way at various parishes. Their mission is to educate about poverty issues, talk about effective ways to eliminate the effects of poverty, and urge people to take action. 6 Page Six The Most Holy Trinity..May 30, 2010 PRAISE TO THE CREATOR The first reading, from Proverbs, is a beautiful doxology of the glory of Christ, who existed before all of creation. Christ is the Wisdom of God spoken of in the verse: from of old I was poured forth, / at the first, before the earth (Proverbs 8:23). Christ is described in terms of preexistence, of knowledge and wisdom of God, as the Child of God in whom the Creator delights, playing on the earth and delighting in the human race. Psalm 8 continues this hymn of praise to the Creator, enumerating all the wonders of creation, and marveling at the wonderful truth that God has put humanity at the forefront of it all, making us a little less than angels, crowned with glory and honor (Psalm 8:6). TODAY S READINGS First Reading Before anything was created, the wisdom of God was brought forth (Proverbs 8:22-31). Psalm O Lord, our God, how wonderful your name in all the earth! (Psalm 8).
