The Collection for the Archdiocese for the Military Services, USA will provide the Gospel, the sacraments and other forms of spiritual support to the men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces wherever they serve and to veterans who are in VA medical centers. Please prayerfully consider a generous contribution to this special triennial collection approved by the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops in 2012 and last taken in The next Parish Council Meeting is Monday, November 7th, at 6pm, in the Church Hall. Duties will include providing assistance to parishes in developing effective parish social ministry, convening parishioners on a regular basis, especially those involved in social ministry, for education, formation, networking and support through conferences, meetings and workshops. Qualified candidates must possess a knowledge of the Catholic Church, an understanding and commitment to the principles of Catholic Social Teaching is required. A minimum of three years of experience in social services, community organizing, parish ministry or a related area, is preferred. The position requires both excellent verbal and written communication skills. Also required are skills in building relationships with people of diverse cultures. Saint Ann Craft Fair Saturday, November 19 from 8:30 to 3:00 pm Saint Ann Church Hall 215 West Street, Bristol 50+ Craft tables, Food & Fun Northwest Catholic will offer its Entrance Exam to 8th graders on November 12 & December 3 at 8 am. An application will serve as your registration for the exam. The cost for the exam/application is $25. For more information or to apply online, go to NorthwestCatholic.org/Admissions. School Update: Last week all grades held their parent teacher conferences and students enjoyed three half days! For those visiting during that time, we held our Book Fair, raising money for our school library. This year we went with Usborne books, and students and families really took advantage of the books available. Our Annual Boo Bash Halloween party took place on Saturday, October 22 nd. Kids and adults dressed up in creative costumes and enjoyed games, dancing and of course, Halloween treats! Taste Books will be sold for $25 from November 7-18 th. If we can sell over 100, the school will receive $12.50 per book! These make great Christmas gifts! Call the school if you are interested in purchasing a book. Please come and support the Thanksgiving Turkey & Food Drive - On Saturday, November 19 th, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, the Turkey & Food Drive will take place in the St. Joseph Church parking lot. Student volunteers from both Parishes will greet vehicles to collect turkeys, food & monetary donations that will be delivered to Foodshare by parent & student volunteers following the drive. The Windsor Food Bank is a partner agency of Foodshare and will benefit from this food drive. C1 Students will attend a presentation on Sunday, December 4 th, at 4:00 p.m., in Father Doherty Hall, at St. Joseph Church. The presentation will be facilitated by Deacon Ron Biamonte, and all C1 students are required to attend. Steubenville East Youth Conference - all Parish youth in grades 8-12 are invited to join us on Sunday, November 20th, in Fr. Doherty Hall, at 4:00 p.m., to hear more about this year's Conference being held July in Lowell, Mass.
