In every community there are people who are quick to point out other people s faults. This self-righteousness is not only annoying; it is dangerous. It can blind these self-appointed guardians of moral conduct to their own, often serious, shortcomings. Thy are warned here, in very graphic terms. In the end, the test of one s goodness is one s own conduct. 2 Eighth Sunday of Ordinary Time MASS TIMES ARE CHANGING!! Starting March 12th Mass will now be at 9:30am from Tuesday to Friday. The Masses on Saturday and Sunday will remain at the same time! INCOME TAX RECEIPTS ARE IN!! Please pick yours up at the back of the Church. There are still envelopes that need to be picked up for 2019!! 5 WEEK LENTEN MISSION Our annual Lenten Mission begins on SATURDAY, MARCH 9 th, 2019 and will run for five consecutive Saturday mornings. Priests are available for the Sacrament of Reconciliation between 8:00am and 9:00am. The first talk is presented at 9:00am by our special guest speaker, Father Patrick Okenyi, s.m.a. followed by the Saturday Eucharist with Bishop Marcel Damphousse and/or Father Gerald Lajeunesse. The theme for the Lenten Mission is: "The JOY of Rediscovering Jesus You are encouraged to attend this special Lenten Mission at Our Lady of Hope Church, 591 Brennan Road, Sudbury. May God bless you and your loved ones during this new year Report from the Parish Health Council Diabetes is a metabolic disease that occurs when the body loses its ability to respond to insulin. If untreated it can lead to problems with heart and kidney disease. Common symptoms can include excess thirst, excess hunger, voiding more frequently, fatigue, and frequent infections that are slow to heal. Not all people have all the symptoms and may be diagnosed with a blood test. Once diagnosed it can be managed with diet, exercise and medication. Some people may have to take insulin injections or daily medication and monitor glucose levels every day while others may be controlled with only diet and exercise. There are new devices on the market that eliminate the need to do finger picks for glucose testing. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist about them. Lent and the Communion of Saints: On our Lenten journey to the renewal of our Baptism at Easter, we are reminded of the witness of many who have gone before us. They showed us, in their day how to say "yes" to the new way of life to which Baptism in Christ calls us. The Litany of the Saints, is perhaps the oldest Litany in our Church dating back to Saint Gregory the Great in 590 AD. Calling on the Saints reminds us of our communion with them and helps us remember our spiritual growth in Christ. It is appropriate to begin our walk to Easter with the glory of those who have gone before us but who, like us, had to grow into this glory. We call upon them to be with us on our journey this year to the renewal of our "yes" at the coming feast of the Resurrection.
