3 GOD OF LOVE AND LIFE FATHER, SON AND HOLY SPIRIT HOLY WEEK SCHEDULE Tears may flow in the night, but joy comes in the morning. Psalm 30:5 This describes the life of Jesus on earth-the emptiness and desolation of Good Friday and the overwhelming joy of Easter. It is our destiny to repeat in our lives the experience of Christ. Our life on earth can be a Calvary but we know Easter will follow for us as it did for Jesus. Let us draw courage from this thought. ( Father James Turro) Your comment are requested! Dear Lord, by Your Passion and Resurrection, You brought life to the world. But the glory of the Resurrection came only after the sufferings of the Passion. You laid down your life willingly and gave up everything for us. Your body was broken and fastened to a Cross. Your clothing became the prize of soldiers, your blood ebbed slowly but surely away and Your Mother was entrusted to the beloved disciple. PASSION PRAYER Stretched out on the Cross, deprived of all earthly possessions and human aid. You cried out to Your Father that the end had come. You committed into His hands, as a perfect gift, the little life that remained to You. Lord, teach me to accept all afflictions after the example You have given. Let me place my death in Yours and my weakness in Your abandonment. Take hold of me with Your love, that same foolish love that knew no limits, and let me offer myself to the Father with You so that I may rise with You to eternal life. Amen

5 PASSION MARCH 25TH PALM SUNDAY The contrast between the processional reading in today s liturgy and the proclamation of the Passion is striking. We are given a glimpse of how profoundly the word of God is fulfilled in Jesus. First he must be hailed as the Messiah, the One who is to come. He must be acknowledged by all, though they do not know what they are saying. They think he is the promised king, a worldly king of the Jews who will free them from the Roman occupation. They do not yet understand, even the disciples, exactly where this triumphal procession is leading. In our lives, we too do not know where we are going. It is in faith that we can follow Christ wherever he may lead us, trusting that death is not the SUFFERING Jesus did not come to do away with suffering or remove it. He came to fill it with his presence. Paul Claudel Palm Sunday of the Passion of the Lord [Christ Jesus] humbled himself, becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. Philippians 2:8 TODAY S READINGS Gospel at the Procession with Palms Jesus entry into Jerusalem (Mark 11:1-10 or John 12:12-16). First Reading In spite of my sufferings I am not disgraced. I am not put to shame (Isaiah 50:4-7). Psalm My God, my God, why have you abandoned me? (Psalm 22). Second Reading Christ emptied himself, and God filled this emptiness with exaltation (Philippians 2:6-11). Gospel The account of Christ s passion according to Mark (Mark 14:1 15:47 [15:1-39]). SAINTS AND SPECIAL OBSERVANCES Sunday: Palm Sunday of the Passion of the Lord Monday: Monday of Holy Week Tuesday: Tuesday of Holy Week Wednesday: Wednesday of Holy Week Thursday: Holy Thursday; The Sacred Paschal Triduum Friday: Friday of the Passion of the Lord (Good Friday); Fast and Abstinence; Passover begins Saturday: The Easter Vigil in the Holy Night; Holy Saturday
