Dear Friends in Christ Jesus: It's our joy to enter into Holy Week during which we are highly blessed to reflect on the suffering and death of our Lord Jesus Christ. This special week helps us to prepare ourselves to celebrate the glorious Resurrection of Christ our Lord. His Resurrection is our new life and His life is our way. As we enter into the mystery of Christ, we enter into life that will never end. Let us thank God for this special week in which we are going to celebrate His Last supper, His passion and death and thus His glorious Resurrection. Let us celebrate Christ who brought us life. Let us thank and celebrate Him who is our destiny. Amen. Fr. Peter Legion of Mary Legion of Mary (Latin: Legio Mariae) The Legion of Mary is an international association faithful Catholic Church who serve the Church on a voluntary basis. Our next meeting will be on April 12th at 1.00 pm. May God continue to bless the members of Legion of Mary. Holy Father s Prayer Intentions for April Young People That young people may respond generously to their vocations and seriously consider offering themselves to God in the priesthood or consecrated life. April Devotion The month of April is dedicated both to devotion to the Eucharist and devotion to the Holy Spirit. This tradition has developed because Easter Sunday often falls in April, and when it does fall in March, the Easter season continues on through all of April. Dictionary of Catholic Terms: Holy Thursday: The day before Friday. On This day Catholics commemorate the supper Jesus held with his disciples on the night before he died. Friday: The day on which the crucifixion of Jesus is commemorated. Palm Sunday the Sunday before Easter, when the triumphal entry of Jesus into Jerusalem is celebrated in many Christian churches by processions in which palm fronds are carried. Rosary Wednesday The greatest method of praying is to pray the Rosary. Saint Francis de Sales. Please join us every Wednesday at 6.30 pm for Rosary and Litany to our Blessed Lady followed by Mother of Perpetual help prayer and Mass at 7.00pm. Divine Mercy Sunday There will be a special divine Mercy Sunday Service on April 23 rd at 3:00 pm at St. Paul s Church. Please do come. For God resists the proud. -St. Vincent de Paul Coffee and Gospel Reflection No Gospel reflection for Holy Week Saint's Corner: St. Martin I (April 13) A seventh century Pope, Martin was born in Todi, Italy. At the Lateran Council, Martin opposed the monothelite heresy, which held that Christ had only one will, the divine will, and not a human will as well. Since Emperor Constans II favored the heresy, Martin was exiled to Constantinople, where he was stripped of his honors and condemned to death. He later died in misery and hunger in the Crimea, the last pope to be martyred.
