The Last Supper recalls the meals Jesus shared with outcasts and sinners. Jesus uses this meal and the cross as the entry to the fullness of the heavenly banquet where we will eat again with him and with eachother. In the way to Calvary, he continues to call the people to repent, to change their hearts. Jesus continues to reach out and forgive, even from the cross. He forgives his killers and offers salvation to the repentant thief. Jesus dies as he lives, the obedient and faithful servant of God. Because of this he is raised up in the kingdom. Life Focus 1. She died unexpectedly after a brief illness. She was 71 years old. My mother was not just a mother; she was my dad (after I lost my dad at 7years old); she was a friend and the love of my life. As I continue to struggle to accept the reality of my mother s passing, I ask you to keep me and my family in your prayers. Pray also for the repose of her soul. I will be having a memorial mass for my mother on April 22 nd 2019 (Easter Monday), 7pm at St Patrick s parish, Sudbury. God willing, I will be traveling home on April 29 th for her funeral which is scheduled for May 4 th 2019 in Nigeria. May the soul of my mother, Cecilia Salome Okenyi and the souls of all the faithful departed through the mercy of God rest in peace, Amen! I'd like to especially thank our young parishioners Elaina, Myra, Xavier, Sam, Kaeden, Olivia, Seran, Katelyn and Audrey who helped bring alive our Solidarity Sunday celebration. I have received many compliments on your behalf for the wonderful procession of the Solidarity Symbols and narrative that helped deepen our parish's awareness on the global crisis of forced migration and refugees and informed our Share Lent contributions. Thank you to the over 75 people: parents, sponsors, Confirmandi, parishioners of all ages from 2-92 and Faith in Action members who contributed A Dish to Be Shared at the potluck after the 10:00am Mass. Heartfelt thanks for the many hands who helped our kitchen team Norah, Linnea, Sean, Christine, Yovita and myself with either set up or clean-up afterwards. A wonderful time of stories and fellowship was able to happen because of your contribution to helping with creating this welcoming atmosphere that enabled our 'open mic' experience of sharing.
