Call Mr. Yoshi Asanuma at A PRAYER FOR EASTER EYES My Lord Jesus, You have risen to new life! Give me new eyes with which to recognize your presence in the world around me. Sharpen my vision so that I see beyond the ordinary events of each day and into the extraordinary reality of your grace. Brighten my view of the world with renewed hope in the coming of your Kingdom. So en my gaze so that I view others with the kind of tenderness and compassion you showed to so many. May each day of this Easter season provide glimpses of your glory. In your sacred name, I pray, Amen. Wherever the spirit would go, they went; they did not change direction when they moved. Globally, nationally and locally we are living in a time of great challenge and great opportunity. We must keep moving forward to support the ministry activities in our Diocesan Church which touches countless lives. Your gift towards this year s appeal is greatly needed and appreciated. The mail/brochures are available in the Narthex or the Parish Office or you may donate online at Thank You. CATHOLIC HOME MISSIONS APPEAL Next week, we will donate to the Catholic Home Missions Appeal. Right now, over 40% of dioceses in the U.S. are considered home missions because they are unable to fund essential pastoral work needed in their communities. The parish will tithe 6% of what you have already given to other agencies to support this appeal which will help ease the struggle of these dioceses. 3 Page 3 April 16, 2017 Our Mission is to be a Spirit-filled community of love, challenging people to proclaim the good news of Christ s salvation to the world. We seek to foster & promote a life pleasing to God through prayer & Sacramental ministry. We are called to nurture spiritual growth, build our lives on Gospel values & to reach out to the poor & hurting. We invite you to a parish-wide consecration to Jesus through Mary, using 33 Days to Morning Glory. Using Formed, you have access to the video portion, as well as the Participant Guides, and would just need the book. The Parish Code for Formed is cac2a9. This would be a fantastic way to celebrate the 100 year Anniversary of the apparitions at Fatima. The start date is April 10, and the consecration will take place on May 13 at the 10 am Mass. The 33 Days to Morning Glory book is available at our Kiosk each weekend and we have a Flocknote group set up to guide you every step of the way. To join the Flocknote group please text 33 Days to He is Risen! 4 Activate Your Catholic If you are interested in serving as an Extraordinary Minister, please contact the RE Office We are in need of volunteers to serve at Mass or able to go to an Assisted Living Facility once a month. If we don t have Extraordinary Ministers to serve at the Saturday Vigil in particular, we will have to serve under one species.. VBS 2017 IT S OUR JUNGLE OUT THERE JUNE 26TH-30TH 9:30AM-12:30PM COST: $60 PER CHILD Susie Branch and her husband Bob have been parishioners at Holy Spirit for 19 years and it s been a busy 19 years! We snuck a call to Bob asking if he could keep a secret, & asked him for the inside scoop. He confirmed our suspicions, Susie is a hard worker! In fact, she received the first ever Volunteer of the Year Award for the County. Susie has been a volunteer with GrandReaders and Books for 13 years. So, if it s a Saturday morning, you ll find Susie at the Woodward Park Regional Library doing one of the things she loves to do-reading! So its no surprise then that Susie is a Lector at Holy Spirit and she has been an Extraordinary Minister to the Sick taking Communion to an Assisted Living Center on Sundays. Susie loves ballet and animals and has struck up quite the friendship with the neighborhood cat. Susie is a gentle and kind lady and it s a privilege to highlight her as our person of the week. Thank you Susie for all that you do for others in what little spare time you have. We so appreciate you! REGISTRATION FOR RELIGIOUS EDUCATION CLASSES BEGINS TUESDAY, APRIL 18TH.
