They are able to stay at our house for as long as they need while their children are receiving treatment. We provide rest, nourishment, a listening ear, and most of all, a safe haven for them so they are able to be close to their loved ones during a difficult time. We believe that when a child is hospitalized, the love and support of family is as powerful as the strongest medicine prescribed. 4 YOUTH MINISTRY Palm (Passion) Sunday is usually one of the most popular Masses of the year because you get to take something home. It s like those giveaway days at a sports game. But the blessed palm is there to help us enter more deeply into the mysteries we are celebrating, specifically, the Lord s Passion. Try to put yourself in the places of the different characters in the Passion narrative. When we do that, it helps us remember how fickle we are sometimes in our relationship with God. We re praising with the crowds one minute, waving our palm branches as He enters the city, but shortly afterwards, we re the ones saying those horrible words: Crucify him! But even as He saw himself being betrayed, or seeing how quickly His own people turned from Him, Christ didn t pack up and leave, but persevered even to His death because of His great love for us. This is an insane reality: God loves us enough to die for us, even when we sin. Jesus wasn t just on the cross for the people who loved Him, like Mary and John; He also died for the people who spit on Him, who reviled Him, who yelled, Crucify him! God s mercy is very tangible here. We hurt, revile, and mock Jesus when we choose to do It s time to register for Steubenville San Diego (SSD)! Seats are filling fast. The blessed palms aren t something we should just put in our top drawer until next year, but they should be a constant reminder - both of our weakness, and of God s undying love for us. Try to put it someplace where you ll see it each day to help you remind yourself to stay with Jesus, even at the cross.
