CCD FOOD DRIVE Our children are thankful for all they have. Our 3rd,4th,7th,and 8th grade classes are starting a non perishable food collection this week. The students want to give back to the community and will be happy to receive any and all donations you are able to help with. Students will be passing out bags after mass this weekend. Even if you can't give much each small amount will help. These items will be delivered to "Good News Ministries" on Monday. THANK YOU!! GOOD NEWS OUTREACH First, I would like to thank all who made up for our shortage of food this past month. It will continually be that way in the future as food from USDA is being cut to our ministry due budget cuts and the high price of food. This is happening at a time when 1 out of every 6 people are food deficient. Good News Outreach provides bag food to 850-1,000 families per month. If we do nothing we will have to scale back to about families per month but if you can help us out by committing to providing a bag of food and do that on a consistent basis or have your faith community put on a food drive periodically than we might be able to help all that come to our doors. We will meet in the big classroom (Room 118) in the Parish Hall to sign up and begin the FUN! The Boy Scouts will be there to provide the activities while the parents do all the paperwork. We have a lot of special activities coming up such as a family campout and a special hike through downtown Tallahassee. A free Pinewood Derby car kit will be your reward for being one of the first to sign up. Remember - Monday at 6:30 don t be late!

TEN COMMANDMENT HIKE The second annual Ten Commandments Hike will be held on Saturday, October 15th. This event is open to Girl and Boy Scouts, as well as non-scouts, grade 3 and above (and their families). The "Hike" is a 3.5 mile walk to ten different religious organizations (Jewish, Islamic, Baptist, Episcopalian, Catholic, etc.) in downtown Tallahassee, where we will hear a little bit about their particular faith and then learn about one of the Ten Commandments. IGNATIAN SPIRITUALITY Drawing on the rich traditions of Ignatian spirituality and the concrete experiences of our busy and complex lives, the Neumann Center is offering a "retreat in everyday life." The book "Moment by Moment" will be used as a tool for prayer and reflection. We will meet the first and third Monday of each month at 7 p.m. beginning Oct. 3.
