All is no t gold that glitters. Beware, my friencf, everywhere you meet confidence men, rascals, impostors, i sharpers, human leech- es that go up and down the earth and prey upon humanity. They offer much for nothing, they are p.aijistaking in advising you how to get rich quick, they sell you a gold brick, at le'ast you hope it is, but to your sorrow you make the discovery, all is not gold that glitters. So be careful, my friend, don't plunge, don't be reckless. Poise is the word, be calm in your $oui. There are invisible /forces : that will guide you, know them, trust them, command them. One who loves you-does not will that you should drift like a deserted hulk on the stream of life. Quit running at your own will, illuding lights across the moors are deceiving. Don't think yourself intelligent enough to make the run of life's day without compass, chart or guide. Mark' it well, sir, all lis not gold that glitters. Broken hearts sob their bitter cry, they sink to rise no more, they strew the way. of. life with human wreckage, alas, they thirsted for the glitter. Powell, Munroe rails, died last Tuesday at a hospital in Virginia. Burial was Thursday. Mr. Powell works at the Munroe Falls Paper Mill. At their practice hour last Sunday 1 lie Men's Bible Class Glee club sang fifteen different hymns. Twenty-two men were present at this meeting, however some were merely spectators. Last Sunday Mrs. H. S. Gaylord received word of the death of lier brother, Rev. William Earl at Yona Lake, Indiana. Burial was in Michigan.! Mr. Joe Roberts of Rattle road, Munroe Falls, returned from the hospital Sunday. He had pneumonia. Faster Young, wife, and sisterin-law Miss Slienalt of Arndale road, visited their parents, south of Columbus thi s weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Neville's daughter, Ruth, from Chicago, was a visitor over the last weekend. The firemen will dance this week oil Friday evening at the county home. May the editor suggest that on Sunday they attend tlie Community church in a body. Mr. and Mrs. J. II. HaVper and family, of Bast Arndale road, spent Sunday at the "Russell Harper's" cn Diagonal road. A very nice time was reported by all. 9 Mr. Ed. Stahl, a former resident, of our town, now residing in Berlin. Pa., is visiting here with liis nephew Charles Stahl of Hudson road. George Chandler left CCC camp in California last Saturday. March

Nichol's mother and father of Medina, are with her for an extended visit. Miss Lila Henderson of Chicago visited her mother, Mrs. V. J. Henderson of Baiumberger road, last Thursday and Friday. Mr. and Mrs. George P. Jones of Baumberger road are visiting relatives in Denver, Colorado- and Minneapolis, Minn. The Robinson boys, George and William, who live on Baumberger road, won the bicycle in the recent Times-Press subscription" contest. Steve Eichelberger, former secretary-treasurer of the^ old Fi^st Central Trust and son of Mr. and Mrs. Fremont, Eichelberger, 195 Hudson road, died of Bright's disease. He was buried ^Saturday in Glendale cemetery. Mr. and Mrs. George D. Conleys of West Arndale road visited their parents at New Met^moras, Ohio, over the last weekend. Birthdays celebrated last Sunday at Bible school (in absence of Mr. Monteith Roy Lowe presiding) were Mary Jo Woodring, Mrs. Lowe, Arlerie Stein, ' Miss Ona Wade and Robert Lowe. About 4:30 a. m. last Sunday morning Stow very nearly lost the greater portion of their business houses. Wednesday April 3rd Mens Class Stow Community Church twenty-two volunteer firemen' had not responded, and, if there had been les s than the 850 feet of' hose which was necessary to reach the water, and, if the fire department had not had water in their cistern: if well! the story might' have ^been different. The fire started in the rear of the Merit Meat Market, Marhoffer block, and besides burning out the market, it damaged the rear floor of the Barber shop on oiie side and smoked up Isalys on. the other side. The damage was variously estimated at from 2 to 10 thousand dollars. Mr. Rearick of Isalys expects to be able to resume business soon, possibly on Saturday. The barber shop,was open for business Tuesday. The meat market will open later. Bahei The investiture ceremonies of Boy Scout troop No. 158 were held in the Stow High School auditorium du,ring their regular meeting. The parents, friends and Girl Scout troops No. 5 and No. 16 were present. Gene Crawford, Akron area representative administered the oath to the committeemen Fred isommers, G. O. Vough, A. J. Brust, M. W. Biggs and T. J. Bahei. The meeting was turned over to Fred Sommers, chairman, who administered the oath to E. W. Conway, Scoutmaster, who then took charge. Thirty-four Scouts, six officers and committee were present. Features of the evening were two one act comedies by "The Silver Fox" patrol. A selection by the "DriAn and Bugle Corps," who made their first public appearance, the corps being organized two weeks ago under the supervision and instruction of T. J. Bahel. The corps now consists of four drums and eight bugles and when completely equipped will be ready for competition with- other scout corps'. Action, hag been taken to form a Scout, Mothers club. The first Boy ^cout troop in Stow was organized in 1919 as Troop No. 1. The origipal troop flag is now in possession of troop No. 158 successors'' to the first troop. I. O. Palmer was the first scoutmaster and is still an active scoiiter. Gene Crawford told about the Scout Circus and why everybody should attend Friday and Saturday at Goodyear hall.
