1 THE COMMUNITY CHURCH NEWS VOL. V STOW, O., FRIDAY, MARCH 4, 1938 NO. 9 THE REVIVAL Dr. E. J. Bulgin of Long Beach, California, begins a revival meeting in the Tabernacle in Stow, Tuesday night, March 8th. Dr. Bulgin was with us in February of last year. All who heard him desired his return, so the good Dr. will be here. Dr. Bulgin is an Evangelist of national reputation. You will laugh and cry as he recites his episodes. You will love God better for the meetings, the great plan of Salvation will be clearer to you and your spiritual life will be enriched. All church folks of all denominations are urged to come, everyone will be made welcome. Church folk, say not unto yourselves that lo here and lo there, we have things to do. Lay them aside, clear the decks for action, erase the slate, avail yourselves of this opportunity. Now for the Bulgin meeting. GEO. M. HULME LIVE FIVE HUNDRED YEARS The lecture Sunday night, March 6th, on "How To Live 500 Years," will be a treatise on health and conduct of life that tends to lengthen the years of our sojourn. Come, hear this lecture. Nine out of every ten people in Stow will find some wholesome truth that you may have occasion to thank the speaker for. Little is taught in the school of life on how to live to avoid sickness. Much is taught on how to treat disease, little on how to prevent it. Let us believe the old adage, that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. The world is sick, ailing, diseased, hobbling clown to the grave, haunted and cursed by a thousand afflictions unknown to all other species of life. Your speaker asks, is this as it should be? Are disease and death demons to destroy all happiness of the race from the day we are born till it finally pulls us down like a hunted animal? This lecture will be treated under six heads or divisions: 1st, A happy outlook on life; 2nd, The human body; 3rd, The machinery within; 4th, The teeth; 5th, Habits and follies; 6th, The hope within. f My desire in giving this lec-

About three months ago I had the privilege of explaining the operation of a Credit Union to the members of the Stow Fire Department, but I do not believe that anything further than that has been done toward starting a Credit Union in Stow, If you are not already familiar with the development of Credit Unions, you will be interested in the fact that there are approximately 7000 of them in operation in the United States, and that the first one (in the United States) was organized in It seems to me that a Credit Union can be, and would be, of great benefit to the residents of Stow, especially to those whose circumstances are such that they must do their borrowing from some of those finance companies which charge 3% monthly interest. Credit Unions are limited by law to 1% per month. However, the benefits pre not confined to savings in interest charges on loans. It is part of the Credit Union's job to teach it's members systematic saving, and efficiently managed Credit Unions earn up to 6% dividends for their shareholders. The writer is an officer in the Mechanics Federal Credit Union, operating among the employes in the Engineering Division at Goodyear.
