Polks rave and never cease rehearsing the charms of attractive people. That is well and perhaps as it should be, however, the most precious, the most charming of the human race are frequently found only by a long studied look, that reaches beyond the outer graces. It's soul and character and the mighty urge within that makes a human being wonderful to contact. Lincoln had a very homely face and ungainly form but he will ever live among the great. Was it not written of the matchless prophet, "That there is no beauty that we should desire Him?" Let u s not forget the seven sons of Jesse were rejected and the freckled face sheep-tender of the field was anointed king. Man falls for the pretty girl, she is charming, indeed, in many cases a few months and the divorce courts record the story of unmating and bitter disappointment. STOW, OHIO No. 22 On a street in Akron there passes each morning a girl in her early twenties. She walks, but she walks on one foot, the other foot is a crutch. She wears a shoe, but only one shoe. Thus she labors to and from her task. Her face is one of peace, one of truth. She is ladylike in her bearing. The expression on her face is indicative of a heart and soul of hope and goodness that lives within. How very homely is he or she, we exclaim. However, acquaintance reveals a soul, a glittering, priceless gem, We marvel, for lack of the scar, or deformity, or unattractive face we may find revealed a jewel, a life that unfolds in matchless beauty. Some plain, unattractive woman, as the world reckons are God's own, angel in disguise. To know them is to experience a moral and spiritual uplift. It is refreshing amid life's many deceptions and vicissitudes to meet and know the soul and not the face. GEO. M. Hulme and the congregation extend an invitation to the D'ARiROW STREET GRANGE, NO This organization is known to most folks as the Darrowville Grange. We hope they will honor us with their presence. Miss Martha LindBay, Fish. Greek Road, has been ill with a cold the past week. Charles Trammer expects to spend this summers vacation in Pittsburgh. Last Friday evening at the home of Mrs. L. G. Phelps, Ritchie Road, thirty-seven lajr'ies from the Ladies Bible Class attended a handkerchief shower in honor of Mrs. J. D. Ham, who is,leaving shortly for her home in Texas. John Stahl has a kind heart. He felt sorry for the editor of this sheet and sprayed ;some one hundred forty-five fruit trees for him last Saturday afternoon. Even furnished the spray, most of the majterial, and labor free of charge. Summer must be here. Tromimer makes a gallon of ice cream each Sunday afternoon Ahem! We would; too if we had a cow and lots of milk. Mr. an);'! Mrs. A. F. Memorial Services were held in Darrowville last Sunday. The first part of the progam was held in the Grange Hall. Mrs. Bessie Wilson was.chorister and choir leader. Rev. Bankes of Hudson delivered the address. 'The Scripture reading was from the second- chapter of Isaiah. The parade from the hall to the Cemetery was led by the Hudson High School iband who were all dressed up in brand new white uniforms with blue capes.
