We had over 100 new people sign for the various ministries. Getting involved in Parish Ministry is the best way to make new friends and to have a deeper experience with the Catholic Church/Parish. Many who have joined a ministry have commented on how they feel a part of the church instead of just going to Mass once a week for an hour. The busiest booth was the NEW Legion of Mary. The prize was a beautiful statue of the Blessed Mother. 4 Attention all Organizations! Gearing up for our 2016/2017 Facilities Calendar If you are the lead of any group, ongoing activities, or special annual events that take place here at St. Frances Cabrini, please be sure either stop by the office or contact Jean in the Parish Office at to receive a Facilities Request Form. If you wish to have your form sent electronically, jean at parish_office@sfcabrini.org. We have lots of groups this year and we want to be able to accommodate you! Please use a Facilities Request Form found in the Parish Office when making singular room and or either hall requests. Facilities requests dates will be July 2016 to June 2017 It is very important to note that even as a group that has had their weekly, monthly, yearly event, year in and year out, a Facilities Request form is still needed for that event; weekly or monthly repeats or a singular event. Thank you for your help in making this a smooth transition as we move forward into the coming year as well as 2017! Religious Education A reminder that Wednesday, May 18th is the last regular class for Religious Education 2nd graders who celebrated their First Holy Communion on May 14th. The SFC Community welcomes you into full communion of the Catholic Faith. A special thank you to Bishop McGrath for the First Annual Confirmation Conference held at Arch Bishop Mitty HS. Join us this June / Partners in Mission in Ecuador Trip Has Room! Twice a year, St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception (Los Gatos) offers a wonderful opportunity to participate in a 10-day Immersion Trip to the Working Boys Center (WBC) in Ecuador. This summer s trip, from June 5 15, is not yet full. The WBC is an educational and training program designed to bring families out of poverty. It was started by a Jesuit Priest and a Sister of the Blessed Virgin Mary over 50 years ago to allow people to gain skills and become self-sufficient. It has succeeded. This trip offers a unique opportunity to participate and learn more about the Ecuadorian culture by living onsite and volunteering at the WBC among the families. There is an optional 2-day trip for a visit to the Damien Center in Guayaquil, a Hanson s Disease clinic. Adults and families with teens are welcome! Please stop by Kelley Hall today after Mass and find a new book for yourself, a loved one or a favorite teacher. All are welcome to attend. FIESTA 2016 WANT ADS Big changes are happening this year at our 60th Annual Fiesta. Many of our committee chairs have been with us for many, many years and will be stepping down from their responsibilities. The good news is, they will be here this Fall to mentor those who replace them. Our amazing Team Citrigno - Pam and Dave - are making this year their last year to run Fiesta and Michael Livingston, an SFC parent, has graciously offered to take on their role. Terry Lanier (Finance) and Tom and Karen Billmaier (Food Chairs) are also among those leaving this year and are willing to train. So now comes the exciting part. Every one of our SFC parents and parishioners has the opportunity to join the fun and volunteer to be a committee chair. Fiesta is our largest community fundraiser where the proceeds are split 50/50 to school and parish. This is a great opportunity to get involved and make a difference! Come find out what s going on. We will be presenting The Bible Timeline by Jeff Cavins Come to see Jeff s DVD presentations about what the scriptures are telling us: how the Old and New Testaments relate to each other. Come one time, come to the whole series, come when you can. No homework or studying is required. But if you wish to go deeper, there will be outside Bible reading and a workbook. There is no cost unless you wish to purchase a workbook or other study aids. Tuesday nights Summer FIT Boot Camp Are you ready to get motivated with a morning fitness program that will tone muscles, burn calories, improve endurance and leave you feeling energized for the rest of the day. Join us for one or more of our special 4-week Summer FIT Boot Camp programs. Participants will learn exercises using TRX, kettlebells, BOSU, resistance bands as well as body weight exercises for a total body workout that will work all the muscle groups.
