It s a life-changing invitation, and like so many other such invitations, it requires a great deal of deliberation and discernment. Whether we choose marriage, ordination, single life, or community life, we know the serious planning and consideration that accompany these profound decisions. Like the towerbuilder in the Gospel, we have weighed both the monetary and emotional cost. We have pondered and planned our lives in the direction to which we believe God has called us. And while we pray for guidance and acceptance of God s will, we often fail to understand so much. Like Solomon, we turn to God for wisdom and counsel in our life-changing decisions. Copyright J. S. Anthony's talk at 7:15pm in the Church. There is no charge for this event. Come, listen and be informed. This event is sponsored by the Evangelization Committee. Catholic Home Missions Appeal / Next Week Catholic Home Missions Appeal will take place next week. One way that this appeal works to support home mission dioceses in the United States is by supporting seminarian formation in poor dioceses. The blessing of seminarians places a financial burden on these dioceses, because educating each seminarian costs $35-40K per year. Your support is needed for these young men so that they might go back and serve their parishes. Please strengthen the Church at home by making a generous gift to next week s appeal. COLLECTION NUMBERS Please see next week s bulletin for updated collection numbers. The parish office will be closed tomorrow, Monday, Sept 5th in observance of the Labor Day Weekend. Fiesta 2016! Please contact the parish office ( ) to sign up or for further information rcia@sfcabrini.org. Jschenck@sfcschool.org ALPHA SERIES starts in 1 week! Sometimes one can find themselves confused with life and have a desire to begin again to find out how things went so wrong. Alpha means "the beginning" and many issues can be cleared up by participating in this program. As Christians, we know that all of life's problems can be answered by a clearer understanding and deeper relationship with God. The Alpha program consists of listening to a 30 minute talk on a certain subject relating to the faith and another 30 minute in group discussion with fellow guests. Dinner and dessert is included every week, free of charge. The Introductory Dinner is Sept. 12, 2016, in the Parish Center at SFC - 6:30pm. Come and see if this is what you've been looking for. Many parishioners in our Diocese have already participated in the program and have left with a great satisfaction that carries them on through life. Bring friends, family members, or neighbors. All are welcome! Contact Alicia Morales at alicia_morales@comcast.net or to sign up. 60th Anniversary Yearbook / Last Chance If you received a call this summer to pick up your 60th Anniversary Yearbook, please come to the parish center and pick up your book.
