OLIVE WOOD RELIGIOUS ARTICLES HAND CARVED in BETHLEHEM Please stop by the tables of religious wares (Nativity sets, rosaries, statues, crucifixes, charms, etc.) after all the Masses NEXT WEEKEND - March 30 & 31. Ayman Khair, representing about 180 Christian families from Bethlehem, will be back at SMG. These families have been dependent upon sales of their hand carved religious articles to tourists of the Holy Land. Due to the conflict in the Middle East, the tourism has been cut off. In order to survive, they have turned to Christian communities in the United State to purchase their articles. These hand carved religious articles are beyond description. Carved from wood of the sacred Olive tree, this workmanship has been a tradition for these families for hundreds of years. It is hoped that through the efforts of Mr. Khair that these families have a little income and are able to stay living in the Holy Land. Amazingly, the Christian population dropped from 22 % to less than 2% in the last 30 years. Thank you in advance for your support. SMG St. Vincent de Paul Conference Thank you for your continued generosity to your St. Maria Goretti St. Vincent de Paul Society!
