2 FROM OUR PASTOR: FATHER MARK KELLEHER There is a change coming. We all hate change until we get used to it, and then we wonder what the big deal was! The change that s coming has to do with our Breaking Bread Hymnals and the Missals that contain the Sunday readings which are available at the entrances to the church. ST. VINCENT DePAUL THANKSGIVING BASKETS Once again the St. Vincent DePaul Society will be providing Thanksgiving Baskets to the needy families of our Parish and community. If you are able to donate a turkey for these baskets, a signup sheet is provided in the gathering space. If you do not get a chance to sign up, we still want your turkeys! Turkeys should be brought to the hall the weekend of November 19/20. Our members will be at each mass to assist. Other items needed to complete the meal, such as stuffing mix, instant mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, canned vegetables and gravy may also be donated. As we do every year, on the First Sunday of Advent (November 27, 2016) we will have new Breaking Bread Hymnals. However this year they will include the Sunday readings. We no longer will need the Missals at the entrances to the church. By combining these two books into one the parish will save close to $1000 per year. The second part of the change is that the hymnals will no longer be stored in the book racks in the pews. The hymnals will be stored on rolling library carts. The carts will be at the entrances to the church and you will take a hymnal as you enter the church. Thanksgiving Mass Schedule. Our Thanksgiving Mass will be on the eve of Thanksgiving, Wednesday, November 23 rd at 7:00 p.m. There will be no daily Mass on Thursday, November 24 th. Please place these items in a bag marked THANKSGIVING and place them on the tables in the coat closet in the Hall. (Go through the double doors to the Hall from the foyer and coat closet is first door on the left. ) Money contributions and scrip cards toward this project are greatly appreciated and should be labeled St. Vincent DePaul and delivered to the church office. Thank you for your continued generosity to the St. Vincent DePaul Society. Without your help we would not be able to provide a Happy Thanksgiving to families less fortunate. God Bless Holy Family. 308-Holy Family Page 2
