We are most appreciative and grateful to those families who have supported this Appeal. Please remember whatever you give to this Appeal stays in our parish to cover expenses of our day to day operation. If you did not receive a letter, you are not registered. This past Sunday, our parish hosted the Milton Inter-faith Clergy Association s Thank For Giving Celebration, an ecumenical Thanksgiving celebration during which we honor the volunteers of the various non-profit organizations, religious and non-religious, of the Town of Milton. It was wonderful for me to welcome all that came to celebrate in your name and to see not only so many faiths represented - Christian, Jewish, Unitarian, and others, but also for the spirit that was fostered by our choir, led by Dr. George Ashur, participants from The Milton Art Center, the Hospitality Committee led by Fran McKinnon, and the homemade cream of mushroom soup made by Daiva Navickas. During the celebration, we thanked God for the beauty that we experience in our lives both during our service and over hot soup and bread while socializing after the service. Everyone who attended felt blest for doing so. During the celebration, $1, was collected for the benefit of The Milton Food Pantry and The Milton Neighborhood Fund. I am also grateful for our parish s participation last month for the benefit of Friends of the Unborn in Quincy. A great big THANK YOU to all who contributed materially and financially to the baby shower. Here is the thank you note that I received: On behalf of Friends Of The Unborn, I would like to thank you for the Baby Shower you sponsored during Respect Life Month. Your support helps us continue our mission of life and to assist our courageous women and infants who reside in our home. Your support makes a difference! Friends for life, Joan Bailey As we turn our attention to Thanksgiving, I wish to say that I am grateful to the men and women of our Armed Forces for their sacrifices, especially those away from home this time of the year. During my time in the military, I spent my first four Thanksgivings and Christmases with my immediate family and my last two with my extended family in California. I was truly blest. I am also grateful to God for the privilege of being your shepherd. December 2nd will mark two and one-half years I ve been with you. As I become more and more familiar with you, the celebration of Mass, my preaching, and the celebration of the sacraments, both inside and outside the church, take on more significance. When you take the time to share your lives with me, both as individuals and families, please know how much I appreciate you taking the time to do so and as well as your trust. The offertory is our primary means of meeting parish weekly operational expenses. If you are interested in the Electronic Giving Program, please take a form at the entrance of the church or go onto our website click About/Electronic Giving. Do you love to sing? Did your Fall season of sports come to and end? We are still looking for more members to join our junior choir! First-time choir members in grades 1-5 are welcome to join the junior choir. Upcoming opportunities to sing include 3 Sunday Masses in December- including the annual Christmas Pageant and our Christmas Eve Mass! We will continue our season after Christmas break from January to May and a celebratory pizza party to end the season. Rehearsals are every Tuesday in Father Curley Hall 4:45-5:45pm. Christmas Cards for Our Home-bound Parishioners Children and families are invited to make Christmas cards for home-bound members of our St. Elizabeth's community after the 9:30 Mass on December 3rd in the lower church during the social hour. Cards, stickers, stamps, crayons, and markers will be provided. Kids are asked to bring their creativity and Christmas spirit. The cards will be attached to flowers that will be delivered to our homebound parishioners for Christmas by the Christian Service Committee. St. Elizabeth s Giving Tree Beginning December 2nd, we invite you to take a tag off the Giving Trees located in the parking lot elevator entrance and the front entrance of the church. We ask that you return all gifts unwrapped, in a bag with the tag as soon as possible. Time is crucial. This year St. Elizabeth Church is helping the following organizations: Bridge Over Trouble Water, Milton Residence Fund, Dove, and Long Island. Shelter. Thank you for your continued generosity! Every day the Rosary is recited publicly here at St. Elizabeth s before the 9 am Mass. We invite those who can do so to join our Rosary Group and honor Mary, the Mother of Jesus. Open House St Mary of the Hills School located at 250 Brook Rd, Milton will hold their open house. Please join us in the Early Childhood Center on Thursday, November 29 th from 6:00 pm 8:00 pm. Have you ever wondered if God is calling you to be a religious sister? If so, Fiat is for you. Fiat is a discernment group for single women considering a vocation to religious life in the Catholic Church. The next meeting will be held on Wednesday, November 29th, from 7:00 9:00 p.m. at St. Clement Eucharistic Shrine, 1105 Boylston St., Boston. The William T. and Lenore Fidler School of Faith Formation Beth Peterson, Director Denise Johnson-Ilacqua, Administrative Assistant During the month of November, Faith Formation is collecting donations of new men s and woman s hats and gloves as well as $5.00 Dunkin Donut gift cards for St. Francis House, the largest homeless day shelter located in downtown Boston. St. Francis House serves an average of 500 homeless and struggling men and women a day, 365 days a year. They provide breakfast, lunch, showers, mail services and clothing basically everything needed on a daily basis. Please kindly bring your donations to your faith formation session. We celebrate Jesus as Christ our Savior, and Jesus as the King of kings, who shows us the way to the Pray: Dear Jesus, Today we celebrate your feast day As Christ, our Savior and King. thank you for loving us so completely that you were willing to die and rise for our sins.
