3 FROM OUR GRAND KNIGHT On Sunday, December 28, :26 PM, Owen Jensen (parishioner North American Martyrs) reported on our Keep Christ in Christmas sign: Brothers, I hope everyone was able to be with their families and go to Christmas Mass together. We are an example to the world to keep Christ in Christmas. The weather for traveling sure helped us in the Midwest. And baby it is cold outside now. Here comes 2015 and we are steadily moving along with our council projects and supporting the new church wood processing. Many thanks to all who helped and all who prayed for the workers. While the wood is drying (3 months) we are planning the Metal Recycling Schedule St Patrick's Church (demolition). We will be handing out, in church, the following sheet (see next page) to help plan the work, so take a look and plan to help. God Bless you and your families and have a Happy and safe New Year. 6 From Our Knights of Columbus Insurance Agent Life insurance as a gift? The initial reaction for many people when you mention life insurance as a gift is a quick step back and a questioning stare. How morbid, they may think quietly or aloud. While it may seem that way when you first mention it, life insurance is a really thoughtful gift that can be a financial life preserver in tough times. The problem with life insurance is the general perception. Many think of life insurance only in cases where someone dies. Life insurance should, in fact, be thought of as a precautionary protective measure for a family unit. The purchase of this product can mean saving your home, sending your children to college, and preserving your spouse s quality of life in the event of your death. One of the times you may want to purchase life insurance for someone is when a family has a new baby. It s a great, low-cost way to set money aside for the future (i.e. college tuition, housing, business start-up, etc.). Of greater importance, it ensures these children will have insurance as adults, in case an illness later in life makes him or her uninsurable. Newlyweds are also ideal recipients for life insurance. As they join their lives and financial responsibilities, young couples need to make sure that their early investments are fully protected. If something were to happen to one of them, the other may be faced with serious financial hardship. A life insurance policy is an ideal way to ensure their future and protect their assets. 8 Our Chaplain, Pastor, and Knight of the Month, Fr. Schweiger is very busy building our new altar among many other important things for our new spiritual home. So in lieu of his monthly message, here are some evangelization ideas. Are you one of those members that cannot find the time, time for council, time for prayer, time for, well, you get it. Then get ready! On January 1, 2015, you can begin studying all four Gospels in just one year. Yes, that is correct, all in one year, with just one short a day.
