C: Amen.

2 ~ Today s Readings ~ The First Reading: Micah 5:2-5 L: A Reading from Micah. But you, O Bethlehem of Ephrathah, who are one of the little clans of Judah, from you shall come forth for me one who is to rule in Israel, whose origin is from of old, from ancient days. Therefore he shall give them up until the time when she who is in labor has brought forth; then the rest of his kindred shall return to the people of Israel. And he shall stand and feed his flock in the strength of the Lord, in the majesty of the name of the Lord his God. And they shall live secure, for now he shall be great to the ends of the earth; and he shall be the one of peace. L: The Word of the Lord C: Thanks be to God. Psalmody: Luke 1:46-54 Please join in singing the congregational refrain: Cantor: My soul glorifies the Lord, my spirit rejoices in God, my Savior. He looks on his servant in her nothingness; henceforth all ages will call me blessed. Refrain. Cantor: The Almighty works marvels for me, Holy his name! His mercy is from age to age on those who fear him. Refrain. Cantor: He fills the starving with good things, sends the rich away empty. He protects Israel, his servant, remembering his mercy Refrain. The Second Reading: Hebrews 10:5-10 L: A Reading from Hebrews. Consequently, when Christ came into the world, he said, "Sacrifices and offerings you have not desired, but a body you have prepared for me; in burnt offerings and sin offerings you have taken no pleasure. Then I said, "See, God, I have come to do your will, O God' (in the scroll of the book it is written of me)." When he said above, "You have neither desired nor taken pleasure in sacrifices and offerings and burnt offerings and sin offerings" (these are offered according to the law), then he added,

3 "See, I have come to do your will." He abolishes the first in order to establish the second. And it is by God's will that we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. L: The Word of the Lord. C: Thanks be to God. The Gospel Acclamation Please rise and join in singing the Gospel Acclamation s Refrain: Cantor: Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord. May it be done to me according to your word. Refrain. Holy Gospel: Luke 1:39-45 D: The Holy Gospel according to St. Luke, the 1 st Chapter C: Glory to you, O Lord. In those days Mary set out and went with haste to a Judean town in the hill country, where she entered the house of Zechariah and greeted Elizabeth. When Elizabeth heard Mary's greeting, the child leaped in her womb. And Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit and exclaimed with a loud cry, "Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb. And why has this happened to me, that the mother of my Lord comes to me? For as soon as I heard the sound of your greeting, the child in my womb leaped for joy. And blessed is she who believed that there would be a fulfillment of what was spoken to her by the Lord." D: The Gospel of the Lord. C: Praise to you, O Christ. ~ Today s Prayers & Intercessions ~ For the Church: that our hearts may leap for joy as we recognize God-with-us in the people and events of our lives. Lord in your mercy For a spirit of joy: that we may be grateful for all the gifts and opportunities that God offers us and rejoice in the blessings which come to us each day. Lord in your mercy

4 For Hope: That we might set our sights on God and yearn for the eternal day when we are together with Him. Lord in your mercy. For refugees, for those fleeing violence, and for all who are oppressed: that God will protect them from harm, give them strength, and guide them to places of safety. Lord in your mercy For all who are traveling during this season: that they may arrive safely and have renewing visits with family and friends. Lord in your mercy For all who lead others: that they may see themselves as servants and that they may work tirelessly for the good of those who count on them. Lord in your mercy. For all who face sickness, injury, or limitation, especially. That they might find strength and healing with each passing day that that their spirits might be lifted by the care and compassion of others. Lord in your mercy. For all who rest eternal in the care of God, especially That God might hold them close and that those who grieve might trust and hope in the assurances of Christ. Lord in your mercy. For the gift of peace: that God might help us to understand each other thoroughly and work not just for the good of ourselves but of our neighbors as well. Lord in your mercy.

13 Thanks for a Great Response to the Altar & Nave Renovation Project The generosity of Trinity s parishioners and friends is to be celebrated! At mid-december, we have exceeded our goal of $198,500 in pledged commitments to the 250 th Anniversary Altar & Nave Renovation Project. This is an amazing milestone, which we ve reached in less than 1 year! Thank you!, to each and every person who, in some way, has been a part of this wonderful accomplishment! $200,880 in special offerings have been pledged (as of 12/18). $142,650 have been shared. $55,850 remains to be received. Can we still donate?... Certainly, and Please Do! Gifts which are received in excess of our goal will be used to save on financing costs by reducing our loan balance more quickly and replenishing the funds ($56,500) which were advanced from the Memorial Fund, securing them for use for some future ministry. Thank You, once again, for your generous support of Trinity s ministries, in so many ways! The Sestercentennial Corner In 1867, during the pastorate of Rev. J.Q. McAtee, a melodeon or reed organ was used for music. (Check out YouTube for some examples of melodeon music.) It is also noted that during Pr McAtee s time at Trinity other church improvements were made including a brick pavement laid in front of the parsonage and church. Ironically those bricks were eventually replaced with concrete and that concrete replaced once again with bricks during the pastorate of Rev. R.L. Tome in the late 1980s. Those brick pavers remain in place today. Leaving a Legacy to your Faith If you ve not done so already, would you please consider naming Trinity to receive a special Legacy Gift from your Estate? By doing so, you will assist those who follow us to continue to share Faithful and Meaningful Christian Ministries with the Families of Trinity and our Bedford Community!
