4 EVENSONG ON JANUARY 31 Evensong on January 31 Evensong, a sung service of Evening Prayer, is one of the most inspiring and beautiful liturgies of the Anglican Communion. It is a worship service in which all those assembled join together in prayer, common prayer, as Thomas Cranmer described it in the sixteenth century. It is also a service in which music by the choir has traditionally been a central part. Evening Prayer, whether sung or spoken, is a daily office. In it we consciously acknowledge the daily nature of our existence. We live each day in God s presence, and daily we seek God s guidance and blessing. In the daily office the temporal nature of our existence is affirmed and sanctified. Come join the St. David s Choir and the Junior Choir on Jan. 31 as they sing this lovely service on the 4th Sunday after the Epiphany. Please join us for this wonderful evening of music! There will be a reception in the old Parish Hall following the service. St. David s 2 nd Annual Variety Show Showtime is 6:30 7:30 p.m. Wednesday night, Feb. 3, 2010 To participate in the show, please sign up in mailbox hallway if you have a talent you want to showcase. There will be plenty of time for questions, answers, and good discussion. The class will meet on Jan. 31 in Bethany, on the upstairs back hallway. After that, the class will meet in Jeffords Fellowship Hall, front half. Sunday Morning Bible Study: We invite all parishioners into God s Holy Word together. Canon Moses Matonya, Diocese of Central Tanganiyika on January 31 Join us on Sunday, January 31 for a visit from the Rev.
