3 P ARISH LIFE Ballroom Dance Come learn to dance with us. The next session of ballroom dance begins May 18th, at 7 pm in Jeffords Hall. Classes this series are Ballroom 2 and Ballroom 3 ( at 8:00 ). This a great time to take a review class at half price ( BR1 and BR2 ). Advanced classes this series are Waltz and Rumba. We will offer Ballroom 1 in July. Each class lasts one hour and has an additional half hour practice time. Cost for the series is $60 per person/ advanced classes $65. Sign up at Roswell.html or at the first class. Vernon Highway and Riverside Drive, Sandy Springs. She will play compositions by J.S. Bach, Felix Mendelssohn and Maurice Durufle, plus an original composition. This recital precedes Evensong at Holy Innocents and a reception will follow the service. The public is cordially invited. May Shopping List for NFCC: North Fulton Community Charities (NFCC) serves our neighbors in need through the food pantry, thrift store and through financial assistance. Protein is a nutritional building block. Meat is often lacking in the diets of the clients of NFCC. This month we are collecting canned meat: tuna, salmon, ham and chicken. Also, in honor of Mother's Day, we are collecting large size diapers (sizes 4 and 5). All donations may be placed in the blue bin in the mailbox hallway and will be delivered to the NFCC Food Pantry. May: canned tuna, ham, chicken, and large diapers Vacation Bible School God s Peaceable Kingdom Save the date for VBS - July 20-24! Registration will open on May 3 for all children 3 yrs old rising 5th graders. WANTED: Adult and Youth volunteers. Registration forms are on the Children s table at the end of the main church hallway. Or you may go to the church website at to download forms or to pay online by credit card. If you or anyone in your family would like to schedule a baptism for that day, please call Sarah McVay at , or fill out the online Baptism request form by clicking into the Worship tab at the top of the church website home page, then click into Baptisms. Fill out the form and click submit. Need help using your iphone or ipad for vacation photos? Come to Jeffords Hall on Tuesday, May 19, from 11 to 1 for a lunch and learn session on the camera features, the photo app and photo sharing via icloud. 5 DOVES VISIT SUNDAY SCHOOL Nancy Duncan from Georgia Doves recently visited Children s Sunday School with live doves. THANK-YOU FROM THE BURPO S You don t choose your family. They are God s gift to you, Bishop Desmond Tutu Bishop Tutu must not have been thinking about our church family when he said this; because we chose our church family, and you are truly God s gift to us. You fed us with food and love and support and tended to our every need in the wake of Scott s death. You did yard chores, sent house cleaners to help us prepare for visitors, and sent us flowers and cards with inspiring, comforting, and supportive comments; and you sat with us in our darkest hours. The Memorial Service and the incredible Reception were spectacular and everything we could have asked for. But most importantly you have prayed for us and those prayers have lifted us up and carried us in a tough time. You are truly God s gift to us. 7 DELEGATES TO DIOCESAN ANNUAL COUNCIL Nomination of Delegates to Annual Council is now open: St. David's Vestry is searching for delegates and alternates to this Fall's Annual Council of the Episcopal Diocese of Atlanta to be held on Friday, November 13, and Saturday, Nov. 14, at the Gwinnett Center on Sugarloaf Pkwy. in Duluth. The meeting agenda includes addressing the business of the diocese and a program, topic to be determined. To be selected to serve as a delegate or alternate to Annual Council you must be a confirmed communicant in good standing of the Parish, 2. who is a regular attendant at the services of the church, and 3. must be known by the Treasurer to have made and faithfully fulfilled, during the current year, a stated financial commitment for church support. If you are interested in serving as a delegate or alternate this year, please complete the form below and return it to Linda Thomas in the church office. 8 A FUN VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY! The St. David s Men s Club is looking for volunteers to serve beer at The Verizon Wireless Amphitheater. Saint David s earns a substantial share of the revenues making this not only a great fundraising opportunity, but also a great time for fellowship and community outreach.
