The Mardi Gras Party hosted a small but fun group of people. The decorations were beautiful, the food delicious, and the auction and raffle items were great. We had a great time. Thanks to Will and Deidre Votaw and their committee. The Annual Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper was Church of the Holy Nativity, Meridian, Idaho held on the 17 th with the men and youth of Holy Nativity hosting. This is always a good meal and lots of good conversation. Thanks to Clay Lisle for organizing this event. The Ash Wednesday Service was held at 7:00 pm with the Rev. Alice Farquhar -Mayes presiding. On Sunday the 15 th, Canon Lucinda conducted a Story Telling session on the history of Holy Nativity. I was very surprised at how interesting it proved to be. I learned some things I had never before heard. Several funny stories were shared about the early days and some interesting ups and downs of our Parish. I think we all agreed that our unofficial motto should be We will Survive. The church office volunteers have been working on a new program to produce the bulletins. Please let a vestry member know what you think of the new style. As we head into Lent, I hope you will all be reflective on the life of Jesus, and what we can do to live the life God March 2015 volume 2 number 1 would like us to. Please take time out to worship, even if it is just a few minutes of alone time with God. THIS ISSUE Since Lent started earlier this year, you will notice there are mainly pictures of the events during the end of January and most of February. Most of the meetings in February occurred the last week so the reports we usually have are not available at this time. Bishop Brian Thom saying a prayer with those serving on Sunday, February 22nd (First Sunday in Lent) before the service. This was the first service our new acolytes started to serve.

2 ANNUAL MEETING January 25, 2015 The Annual Meeting was held after the service on January 25th. During the Annual Meeting, the minutes from the 2014 Meeting were approved. The budget for 2015 was passed unanimously after some discussion. New delegates for convention this year were elected. They are Staci Falconer, Kay Grooms and Marian Hendrix. The alternates elected are Paul Parish, Elizabeth Young and Cindy Wolfenbarger. Thank you to the delegates and Wardens who attended Convention last year. They were: Steve Bush, Matt Wheeler, Staci Falconer, Phil Street and Gladys Clymens. Bob Burnz and Cindy Wolfenbarger were elected to a three-year term on vestry. Thank you Cindy Wolfenbarger for agreeing to serve another three-year term. 2

3 Secret Sisters Valentine s Luncheon Our Women's Valentine Luncheon was well attended and enjoyed by all. We were served a Bali Lunch and wonderful chocolate desserts. We had several new ladies so enjoyed time to get to know each other. The Secret Sister exchange is still in progress as we are sure there are many others who would wish to participate. A Valentine box will be in the Narthex for you to sign up. This is a nice way to choose a person to keep secretly in touch with through out the year. One of the areas we have been trying to get in place is a committee to prepare and serve receptions. Mary Buchannan will chair that committee. Please contact her if that would be an interest to you. We will continue taking flowers to our "sister" in need as well as meals. All women of Holy Nativity belong to this group.
