2 VBS June from 8:30 to 12:00 with closing mass on Sunday June 24 at 10:00 a.m. Pre K class for 4 year olds (only 20 spots so register early). Camper group- Students who have completed Kindergarten-5th grade. (100 spots available) Registration begins on Monday, April 30 and ends on June 14. Campers registered AFTER June 8 are not guaranteed tshirt/cd by 1st day of VBS. Early registration is April 30-May 31--$45 one child, $80 two children per family, $75 three or more children per family Registration June 1 - June 14--$50 one child, $85 two children per family, $80 three children or more per family We need Junior Counselors (completed 6th-8th grades) and Senior Counselors (completed 9th grade and older). Please sign up at rectory. Cost is $10 for staff shirt (2XL or larger $12) ALL JUNIOR AND SENIOR COUNSELORS MUST ATTEND A MANDATORY TRAINING!! In addition, any Senior Counselor 18 years or older MUST be Safe Environment trained!! Mandatory VBS Counselor training on Saturday, June 2 from 10:00 a.m. to 12 noon at the church hall. Centennial News - Sunday, May 20, 2018 A New Carmel - On May 16, 1936, the feast of St. Simon Stock, Bishop Jules Jeanmard joyfully celebrated the first Mass for the new Carmelite community in Lafayette. The new Carmel would be under the title of Mary, Mother of Grace. Originally situated on three acres of land on Old Spanish Trail in Lafayette, the community would eventually move near Immaculata Seminary. In 1956, the Sisters moved into their new and permanent home along Carmel Drive. Because of the force of their prayers, Bishop Jeanmard often called this community the lightning rod of the Diocese of Lafayette. Fete-Dieu du Vermilion will occur on the Vermilion this year on August 15 th. Please mark your calendars and visit the Diocesan Centennial Webpage for more information. This year the boat procession with the Eucharist will begin in Abbeville and end at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist. O Jesus, eternal Priest, keep your priests within the shelter of Your Sacred Heart, where none may touch them. Keep unstained their anointed hands, which daily touch Your Sacred Body. Keep unsullied their lips, daily purpled with your Precious Blood. Keep pure and unearthly their hearts, sealed with the sublime mark of the priesthood. Marriage: Couples planning marriage need to make an appointment with the pastor at least six months before the intended wedding date to begin the preparation process. A wedding date cannot be scheduled without approval of the pastor. Anointing of the Sick: Contact the office to schedule an appointment, home or nursing home visit, and, if death is imminent, contact the office for immediate action. First Communion and Confirmation: Contact the Elementary DRE or High School DRE respectively. Holy Communion for the Homebound: Contact the parish office to request a visit.
