Join us for a visit with the Blessed Mother and Her Divine Son Our Lenten Offering to St. Vincent DePaul Our Lenten Offering for next week-end Sat. March 3rd & Sun. March 4 th is for St. Vincent DePaul th Avenue here in Des Moines. They provide many items to needy families. Their wish list is for: Shampoo & conditioner, stick deodorant, bar soap, toothpaste, dental floss, laundry liquid or powder, body wash, toilet tissue, Kleenex tissue, shavers, and shaving cream. Please pick a few items from the list and place them in the box labeled for Our Lenten Offering. Thank you in advance for helping those in need. Pillars of the Parish 2018 The Altar & Rosary meeting will be Thursday, March 1st, 6:00 pm in the lower church. We will pray the rosary together followed by a business meeting. Since election of officers will be next month, anyone wishing to run please contact Lana Fogue Through Unbound the Society is now a sponsor for a 5 year old girl, Jazmine from the Philippines. Join us and bring a friend it s never to late to share in the fun. Refreshments will be provided. Our monthly Mass will be Sunday, March 4th, at 8:00 am. 5 From Msgr. Frank Chiodo Friends, I was delighted to see many of you last Friday at Stations of the Cross. It is a rich Lenten devotion. I encourage all of you to attend on the Fridays of Lent at 5:30 followed by Benediction of the. Fish fry in the hall until 7pm, starting at 5pm, thanks to the Knights of Columbus. Please begin to pray for the selection of our new bishop. May he be a shepherd after the heart of Jesus. Pray too for Bishop Pates during this time of transition for him. May he be filled with joy and peace. We have had a lot of funerals lately. It seems that this time of year finds many of our elderly or sick succumbing to the cold weather. Please remember our sick, elderly and shut-ins in your daily prayers. They are a very important part of our parish family let s not forget them. They are the spiritual giants who have made our parish the great parish it is today. Please remember to pray for our discernments process for securing a new school principal and new director of religious education. Heavenly Father, to you we offer praise, for we have been given the privilege and the great responsibility of forming our children in the in the practice of faith. Our parish school and faith formation program for our children are in need of new and Christcentered leadership. Send forth your Holy Spirit upon us as we begin our search for a new school principal and new director of religious education. Guide us in our discernment, enlighten us with your wisdom, strengthen us to be firm in our Spirit-filled convictions, and bring us to a new springtime of Catholic education which will blossom forth with a harvest of young men and women well educated in the knowledge and love of God. Transform our school and religious education program into schools of discipleship which will guarantee a faith filled future for our families and for St. Anthony parish. In Jesus; name we pray. Amen.
