Catholic Youth Camp is a sleep away summer camp for students entering 3rd grade through high school graduation. Every summer, over 1,400 young people will come to CYC to pray, learn about the Catholic faith, and have fun in the outdoors! To find out more and to register, visit or call Boldly Sent: A Celebration by, of, and for Catholic Youth (AKA DCYC) T-shirt Contest Based on the event title Boldly Sent, (inspired by Matthew 28:16-20), and this year s theme of Made in God s Image, we are asking the youth of our Diocese to put their artistic talents to use in three capacities: 1. A logo for the event this year and going forward (to be used at every Boldly Sent rally, regardless of what the event s theme that year is, until a new design is deemed necessary) 2. A logo for this year s event ( Made in God s Image --this can incorporate the main logo or be a separate one) A t-shirt design (front and back, front only, or back only) Entries need to be submitted by Easter (April 1st), and need to be submitted as a.jpg file, via to Justin White, Director of Youth & Young Adult Ministry, at jwhite@dmdiocese.org. 5 From Msgr. Frank Chiodo My Dear Parishioners, Some years ago I literally walked in the footsteps of Jesus as I travelled to the Holy Land. It was an awesome experience to actually see and hear and experience the same sights and sounds that Jesus did. What a privilege to be there. Although we won t be in Jerusalem this Holy Week, we will experience the POWER of those events of Holy Week right here in our parish. The Holy Week and Easter liturgies are the means God gives us to touch the divine mystery of Christ s mercy in our midst. We don't have to have a travel agent or book a flight. Jerusalem is here, Christ crucified and Risen is here in the liturgies of Holy Week,; we are there and He is here. Come and join us for these saving events unfolding before us and for us. Holy Thursday at 5:30pm High Mass in Latin, EF and 7pm, Solemn Mass Lord s Supper with the washing Apostles feet and the procession Most to the Altar of Repose, stripping altars and adoration until 10:00pm. Good Friday, at 3pm the solemn service passion with the readings, solemn intentions, veneration cross and Holy Communion. At 7pm we will pray the Way Cross with veneration of a relic true cross. The US rules for abstinence from meat includes all Fridays during Lent; Fast (small meals, no snacks) + Abstinence (as in universal rules -- no meat) on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday. Holy Saturday; Vigil service at 7:00pm with the service light, the readings, and the baptism and admission of new members.
