To our Wonderful Generous Parishioners, THANK YOU for your great response during this Lenten Season. We have the best, most caring folks in our parish!! Next weeks Lenten Offering (Sat. April 15 th & Sun. April 16th) will be prayers to our Heavenly Father thanking Him for sending His only Son to Suffer and Die for us. May you have a meaningful Holy Thursday, Friday, & Saturday. Then, celebrate the joyous resurrection of Jesus Christ. May God Bless You All. Last month, I got to witness God s grace touch over 40 children as they experienced their first Reconciliation. Last Saturday, I was blessed to be present at the First Communion Mass for the children at St. Anthony School. In a couple weeks, I will attend the First Communion Mass for the Religious Education children. And then in September, I get to experience many young people receive the Sacrament of Confirmation. How blessed I am! I think it s easy to forget the significance of receiving these, if you don t have a friend or family member who is currently in formation. One neatest aspects of working in my capacity is the constant involvement with preparation for Sacraments. If you are reading this, it means you went to Mass and picked up a bulletin, or are reading it online. Chances are, you receive the Eucharist regularly. But what about your family member and friends who do not? Those people who come to church only to ensure their children receive the Initiation Sacraments of Baptism, First Communion and Confirmation, but then find other obligations more important than weekly Mass. What about them? Well, I want to challenge you to ask them to come. Invite them. Offer to give them a ride. Offer to take them out for lunch after. Just do something! It is our responsibility to evangelize in the world, in our community and IN OUR FAMILY. If you are afraid of making someone uncomfortable or even angry with you, so be it. They ve probably been uncomfortable or angry before and will again but this is important stuff we re talking about. Let s take this last week of Lent to really reach out. And on Easter, when the place is packed to the brim, extend your hand and a smile and make St. Anthony a place they will want to come back to, even before Christmas. Melissa 2. April 9, 2017

5 From Msgr. Frank Chiodo My Dear Parishioners, With the awakening of nature the trees and the flowers blossoming we are reminded new life Christ calls us to at this holiest time year Holy Week. I invite all of you to join us for a walk with Jesus--- through the gates of Jerusalem on Palm Sunday, to the Upper Room for the Last Supper on Holy Thursday, to the rock of Calvary on Good Friday and finally to the empty tomb. At every stop along this journey, Jesus invites us to open our hearts and minds to Him to be touched by the touch Master. Blessings are in store---if we come with trust and confidence that God has something beautiful in store for us in the week ahead. Come expecting, come hoping, come needing, come trusting, come rejoicing. Be renewed, reborn, uplifted expect a miracle---and watch Please plan to join us especially for the Triduum celebrations. Holy Thursday at 5:30pm High Mass in Latin, EF and 7pm, Solemn Mass Lord s Supper with the washing Apostles feet and the procession Most to the Altar of Repose, stripping altars and adoration until midnight. Good Friday, at 3pm the solemn service passion with the readings, solemn intentions, veneration cross and Holy Communion. At 7pm we will pray the Way Cross with veneration of a relic true cross. The US rules for abstinence from meat includes all Fridays during Lent; Fast (small meals, no snacks) + Abstinence (as in universal rules -- no meat) on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday. Holy Saturday; Vigil service at 7:00pm with the service light, the readings, and the baptism and admission of new members.
