Anointing of the Sick Communal anointing during the First Saturday 9:00am Mass. Please contact the Parish Office at the onset of serious illness and for individual requests for the sacrament. Baptism (Infant) Preparation classes offered monthly except July and December. 2 We have made good progress on our way to reaching our goal for the Annual Catholic Appeal, but we are still a distance off. ACA envelopes are available in church and at the rectory. (Gifts counted through week 14) Reminder: the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary is a holy day of obligation this year. Cost is $50.00 for the Faith Formation class and an extra $25.00 if your child will be receiving First Communion in the Spring of Confirmation registration is now closed. The candidates should have received a packet of information from me this week. Parent, please read the letter that was enclosed and help me in making sure your child gets everything filled out and the first assignment completed. 4 08/13/17 Page 4 God is so good all of the time!!! We are fully staffed with main teachers, but we still need adult helpers for classroom and special projects. For example, we have a need to cut out items for our Harvest/ Creation banner. Please stop by or call the parish office for details. We have a need for more help with our Prayer Team to listen and reward prayers with prizes and volunteers to help the little ones learn their prayers. Prayers can be memorized and/or recited in either English or Spanish. We are open Wednesday evening until 7:00 pm to register students for classes. If you wait until the first night of class to register, you will have to wait until September 18th for your student to begin attending class. Remember, payment is due at time of registration. Legion of Mary Go preach the Gospel to every person. The Legion of Mary took this request of Jesus to heart and regularly visits the homes of everyone. We provide the training and spiritual formation you will need. Check us out! Contact Delores Rybacki, , for more information. We have had three people sign up for Confirmation classes for adults. Remember, if you are missing any of your sacraments, this is a perfect time to catch up not only your sacraments, but a faith update as well. Call the office for more details. Divine Mercy Chaplet All are welcome every Monday at 6pm in the Adoration Chapel to join in meditations, prayers, and the recitation of the Divine Mercy Chaplet. PRE-BAPTISM CLASSES Holy Mother Church strongly encourages parents to have their babies baptized within the first few weeks of life. The baptism preparation classes are normally offered the 2nd and 3rd Wednesdays of the month from 7:00 to 8:30pm in the Upper Conference Room in the parish office. The next classes for August will be on the 9th and 16th. Parents and godparents are required to attend.

St. Philomena Parish Youth Ministry Dr. Steve Morissette- Youth Minister For all students in 6 th -9 th grade 08/13/17 Page 5 SC sales are going on Wednesday evenings from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM and Friday morning from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the school. All parents, especially new parents, need to make sure they have taken the Safe Environment class called, Protecting God's Children for Adults, if you want to volunteer at school or attend any field trip. Deacon Jerry will be offering a class on Tuesday, Sept. 12th at 6:30 PM in the parish hall. You need to register through the Archdiocese of Seattle at There are other places that offer the class which you can take during the summer, just check the Virtus website. If you are a current parent and have already taken the class you do not need to repeat the class just stay current with your obligations via the Virtus website.
