As they mark a milestone in their life and journey forward; may they be assured of our prayers for them. Heavenly Father, As they look toward the future bright hope conducts this prayer, for we know the plans You have for them were wrought with divine care. Holy Spirit, lead them. Let them run at Your command, yet be still and know that You are God when trouble is close at hand. Your Word will be a lamp for them, a guide to light their way, a solid place to set their feet, a compass when they stray. May they live their life to praise You, not for fortune, nor for fame, may everything they say and do bring glory to Your name. May their eyes stay fixed upon You as they seek the way that's pure, tasting Your love and goodness sleeping and rising secure. Planted by Your living streams they will delight in all Your ways, hidden by Your sheltering wings with new mercies for each day. Even in a dangerous land when storms threaten to destroy, at the cross they will stand upon the Rock their Strength, Hope, and Joy. Dear Lord, show them Your favor, at all times keep them blessed, may Your face ever shine upon them, with peace and perfect rest. Amen. Congratulations Graduates! God Love Ya! Fr. Reilly

3 The Sacred Heart of Christ June 14, 2015 World Meeting of Families In order to help us prepare for the World Meeting of Families and the anticipated visit from Pope Francis, a catechism of family life entitled, Love is Our Mission: The Family Fully Alive, has been prepared. Over the next few months, our parish will reflect on chapters from this catechism. You can order a copy of this catechism and learn about the World Meeting of Families at WorldMeeting2015.org. Chapter 8: A Home for the Wounded Heart Jesus set a high standard for chastity, asking his followers to live differently from the rest of the world. Jesus taught things about sexuality and marriage which we may find difficult to accept and live, both in ancient times and today. But Jesus asked us to live sacrificially for good reason. Jesus tells us the truth about how to love, and so if we respect marriage vows, practice self-control, and treat each other chastely, communion and freedom of spirit will dawn in our hearts and in our communities. Of course, we all stumble and sin, hurting ourselves and others in the process. Sin causes profound pain in family life. That is why Pope Francis once famously likened the Church to a field hospital after battle. Pope Benedict called each parish a family of families. In our ordinary parish life, each of us fulfills our mission when we bear one another s burdens and help each other heal the wounds. No one should be lonely or forgotten in a parish. The Church is a family of those who have encountered Jesus, who confess that he is Lord, who desire his grace to shape their lives, and so help each other respond to him. Jesus way enables patience, forgiveness, and trust, so that we can convert and renew our hearts in ways that would otherwise seem impossible. Whatever controversies might arise in our culture, whatever others might do or fail to do, Jesus and his Sacraments are always with us, and love is always our mission. Activities include Making Pope Puppets, Bowling with the Bishops, Shooting Hoops with the Seminarians and a Teen Café! Vacation Bible School Cross Culture: Thailand Trek August 10-14, 2015 Join us in Holy Spirit Church hall the week of August for an amazing VBS experience. This year we are taking a Trek to Thailand where we will experience the culture of Christians living in Thailand. Kids will participate in memorable Bible-learning activities, sing catchy songs, play teamwork-building games, dig into yummy Thaiinspired treats, experience cool Bible adventures, and explore what daily life is like for kids in Thailand. Each day concludes with a Closing Celebration that gets everyone involved in living what they've learned. So come and join us for an adventure that your child will talk about long into the school year! Our VBS experience at St. Richard Church is designed for children who are entering Kindergarten through 6th grade in September Registrations are being accepted through July 31. In partnership with the Connelly Foundation, Saint Pio Catholic Regional School now has the opportunity to offer Tuition Transfer Grants for new students who register in grades 2-6. Any student currently attending a public, charter, home, or private school who registers to attend Saint Pio Catholic Regional School is eligible to receive a three-year tuition grant: $1,000 in Year One $500 in Year Two $300 in Year Three A total savings of $1,800 for your family! A limited number of grants are available in each grade, and will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis beginning April 7, While these grants are only available to new transfer students who register at Saint Pio Catholic Regional School, they will also benefit current families by filling empty classroom seats, which increases the school s efficiency and revenue, and minimizes future tuition increases. Full classrooms are the surest path to affordable tuition for everyone!
