2 A Message from Pastor Dear Brothers and Sisters At the end of every Mass the priest or deacon says Go the Mass is ended. In its simplest form, this statement is a call to go and put into action in our daily lives, what we have celebrated in the Eucharist. We have listened to the word of God and we have shared in the body and blood of Christ. We are now called to share the word and the Christ with others. How do we do that? We do it by being imitators of Christ, by not being bitter or angry but by showing kindness to fellow human beings in our dealings and by our compassion and ability to forgive. In other words we treat others the way we would like to be treated. Catholic Charities Seeks Bilingual Volunteer in Crest Hill Area Catholic Charities Money Management Program is seeking a volunteer who is fluent in Spanish to assist a program participant in Crest Hill. The Money Management Program assists low income older persons who have difficulty managing their personal household financial matters. As a trained volunteer, you will be matched with older persons who need help with tasks such as organizing bills, writing checks, balancing a checkbook, intervening with creditors and completing medical forms. Necessary skills include: comfort with balancing a checkbook to the penny, personal strengths in attention to detail and organization are desired, as is the ability to advocate for assigned clients. Pre-service training is provided, a background check is required. John 6:53 The End of Summerfest and Cruise In will take place on Saturday, August 25th. The day starts with the summer Blood Drive from 8 until noon. End of Summerfest starts at 2 pm. Besides kid games, raffles, DJ, food and drink, there will be a blind draw bags tournament starting at 6pm. And new this year, there will be a Junk in the Truck sale this year. Volunteers and donations are needed to make Summerfest a success. Sign up sheets are at the Knights table in the Narthex. So mark your calendars to join in on the fun Mark your calendars for Saturday, September 29th for the first Knights of Columbus golf outing at Prairie Lakes CC in Marseilles. Proceeds will benefit the Tootsie Roll Drive and the Pavillion Fund. More details to follow.

We encourage you to register through the simple process of picking up the form in the back of church or by telephoning the office and complete the simple questionnaire. RELIGIOUS EDUCATION:(Family Centered Faith Formation) Registration takes place from May through August. Classes begin in September and are held twice a month on Sunday after the 10:00 am Mass. PARISH MINISTRIES: If you would like to join one of our parish ministries (lector, Communion minister, catechists, etc.) please call the office for details. ADORATION OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT is held on Tuesday from 5-8p.m. and on Thursday after the 9:15 am Mass until 10:45a.m. SACRAMENTAL PREPARATIONS: We are delighted to celebrate the sacraments of Baptism & Marriage within our parish for registered families. If you have any questions, please contact our parish office, SACRAMENTAL INFORMATION: Reconciliation: Confessions are every Saturday from 3:30 to 4:15 pm, Wednesday from 5:45 to 6:15 pm and by appt.. Baptisms: Are celebrated on Sunday after the 10:00 am Mass. Call the church office for open dates. Marriages: Please contact the parish office at the beginning of your wedding planning to check if your wedding date is available and to start the marriage preparation process. A minimum of six(6) months in advance of your wedding date is a requirement of the Joliet diocese. Weddings are celebrated at Noon or 2 p.m. on Saturdays. Quinceanara Must contact the parish 3 months prior to the requested date RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults): For adults interested in becoming Catholic, RCIA prepares them to receive the sacraments of initiation (Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist) at the Easter Vigil. Adult Catholics in need of Confirmation are also invited. The formal program meets weekly from October through May.
