Yet again and still, we stand before you asking for your protection on your holy Church. For the victims of abuse and their families, Pour out your healing and your peace. For the Bishops of this country, continue to inspire their decisions, and guide them with your Spirit. For the thousands of good and faithful priests, who have followed your call to serve you and your people in holiness, sustain them by your grace. For the faithful who are angry, confused and searching for answers, embrace them with your love, restore their trust, console them with your clear Gospel message, and renew them with your sacraments. We place our Church in your hands, for without you we can do nothing. may Jesus, our High Priest and true compass, continue to lead her in every thought and action to be an instrument of justice, a source of consolation, a sacrament of unity and a manifestation of your faithful covenant. 2 A Message from Pastor Dear Brothers and Sisters, Scripture reminds us that it is a Holy and wholesome thought to pray for the dead. Every November we take that to heart when the church asks us to commemorate the souls of the faithful departed in a special way on November 2nd and throughout the month. We celebrate their lives and we remember what they are to us. We believe that they are with God and that as a merciful God he will give them a merciful judgement. We pray for them as we know that none of us are perfect and that we are all in need of forgiveness and prayer. Eternal rest give unto them O Lord and Let perpetual Light shine upon them. We are also going to have a Jar in the Narthex To donate coins or more to the Kendall County Food Pantry Bags of Hope Bags of Hope fills backpacks with food every week, delivering them to roughly 190 kids right here in Plainfield School District 202 whose families are struggling to make ends meet at home. St. Francis Xavier is collecting food on 11/3 & 11/4 Canned vegetables, canned fruits, macaroni and cheese, pasta, rice, instant oatmeal, cereals, cereal bars, canned soups, ramen noodles, peanut butter, jelly, hot cocoa, canned pasta sauce, tomatoes, canned pastas (ie: Spaghetti O s), canned chili, beans, canned pasta sauce, canned tuna, canned chicken, and individual snacks such as granola bars, fruit chews, snacks, pudding, applesauce, cookies, crackers, chips, raisins, and cheese and crackers.
