2 Page 2 From the Pastor This Sunday, our sermon text will be Mark 6: We will read about the feeding of the 5,000 by Jesus. He affected more people at this event than in any of His other miracles. Some suggest there could have been as many as 20,000 people in attendance. Everyone spoke of this event, even our four Gospel writers. What does everyone talk about today? Usually we speak of the economy, debt crisis, gas prices, and other problems that are on our minds. God uses problems to bring us face-to-face with our deficiencies so that we might view His sufficiency as our only alternative. Every problem we have is an opportunity for us to believe in His power and goodness and to watch Him work in a miraculous way. What we need to recognize is we are shipwrecked on God and stranded on omnipotence. The day Jesus fed the great crowd, there was a great need. In our daily life, there s no need too big and no concern too small. We can trust Jesus to provide for any need. You may want to put a reminder in your phone for our Sunday evening service. We have seen baptisms in this service and last weekend, Sheila Baker joined our fellowship. Next Sunday, October 11, we will share the Lord s Supper in our evening service. Come check it out!
