2 Page 2 From the Pastor I John 4:15-16 Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God. We have come to know and have believed the love which God has for us. God is love, and the one who abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him. Jesus did not simply preach the love of God; He proved it by giving His life on the cross. He expects us, as His followers, to do likewise. If we abide in Christ, we will abide in His love. If we abide in His love, we must share His love with others. Whenever we share His love, it is proof in our own hearts that we are abiding in Christ. In other words, there is no separation between a Christian s inner life and his outer life. Abiding in God s love produces two wonderful spiritual benefits in the life of a believer: 1. We grow in knowledge. 2. We grow in faith. The more we love God, the more we understand the love of God. The more we understand His love, the easier it is for us to trust Him. After all, when we know someone intimately and love them sincerely, we have no problem putting our confidence in them. 5 Page 5 Josh Campbell coming in View of a Call as Minister of Students & Discipleship THIS SUNDAY Josh Campbell has 10 years of experience in various size churches as a Student Pastor and five years as an Education Pastor. He is a graduate of the University of Mary- Hardin Baylor and currently working on a Master of Christian Ministry through Liberty University. He is married to Andie and they have 4 children; Jonas (8), Adelaide (6), Emmie (4), and Fin (2). He describes himself as a team player, communicator, visionary, dreamer, with an entrepreneurial spirit. Josh has led in Disciple Now weekends, Discipleship Training courses, Mission Trips, Weekend Retreats and many youth camps. He also has experience preaching as well as leading adults in Bible Study. He enjoys the outdoors and competitive sports. He currently serves as the Campus Pastor at Silverdale Baptist Church in Ooltewah, TN, where he has been on staff for the last 11 years. He and his wife Sharon have two children, Cody, who is a Chattanooga Police Officer, and Kinsey, who is a student at the Univ. of Tennessee at Chattanooga.
