2 Page 2 From the Pastor The last several weeks have been very insightful as we worked through our Big CHURCH sermon series. The Lord has shared challenging insights and some powerful questions. Thank you for your faithfulness in attending so many of the services. Now, I would like to invite you to a new series, "Making Change." The word "change" seems to strike fear in the hearts of people whether it takes place at work, school, home, or even church. This first message in the series will center around one question Jesus asks of a paralyzed man, "Do you want to get well?" Seems pretty crazy to ask a person who has been infirmed for 38 years, "Do you want to get well?" Each one of us has at least one condition, situation, or position that we would like to have changed. But when Jesus asks if we really want change, do we? I hope to see you this Sunday! Also, we are officially in Fall now. We are racing toward Christmas in October, Funfest, Christmas Child Shoe Boxes, Operation Blessing, Lottie Moon, and the rest of our end of year activities. I hope you will pray about what the Lord would have you participate in and enjoy the blessings of blessing others. NEW MEMBERS Roy & Shirley Landry P.O. 4 Page 4 Prayer Requests: Sympathy to Ladene Hartin in the loss of her cousin, Linda LeVaughn Wilkins - in Shannon 524; had laparoscopic surgery on hiatal hernia Tuesday; now having heart issues Jean Mills - moved from Shannon to Baptist Retirement room 215 Nancy Crisp - in Shannon 525 Mary Lou Moore - (Debby Baker s mom) at home on hospice Walter Rauch - rehab at Baptist Memorial; now has bursitis in left elbow & legs are hurting Fred Risser - (Mary Bailey s son) will have prostate surgery October 13 Sally Hagen - (friend of Joe & Julie Hodges) diagnosed with cancer Lyle Sankey - (Joy s husband) at home on hospice Pam Monday - recovering at home but still very weak Pauline Garrison - nerve induction scheduled for November Lynda Gilbert - transferred to Shannon ICU from Baptist; very sick Jeannine Rundell - has sleep disorder but unable to see Dr. until January; pray she gets in sooner Fay Hoekstra - (daughter of Mary Bailey) will have a spinal fusion in November There are many areas in our church where you can volunteer Power Point People, Children s SS Teachers, AWANA Volunteers, Choir Members, Ushers, Watchmen, Preschool Extended Session Workers & Welcome Center Greeters are just to name a few Call the office and see where you can help. Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it 1 Corinthians 12:27

We are asking each SS Class be responsible for two games. We also need candy Donation baskets in the main hallway Let s make this the best Fun Fest so far!
