Please join them in the Parish Center for Coffee & Treats. A Warm Thank You to the Knight of Columbus for hosting hospitality last weekend. I thank everyone who did such wonderful work for our jog-a-thon. Helen Taylor, our chair and Jo-Ellen, our vice chair organized a small legion of parents who helped so much. A thank you to all of them as well as the entire school and Parish staff for all the organizing and work they did. Thank you to all the parishioners and parents and their cousins by the dozens who all contributed. As of this writing, we made nearly $37,000, a wonderful success. 4 THE FEAST OF PENTECOST SESSIONS OF FAITH Parish Religious Education Program (PREP) is for students in first grade through middle school and includes Sacrament preparation, and Baptism for unbaptized children. Classes are held on Sundays from 9:15 am 10:45 am. For more information, please contact Father Tim McGowan at 310/ or Debra Evans at Religious New sessions will start in September. You may sign up for classes soon. BAPTISM The Sacrament of Baptism is celebrated on the 4th Saturday of every month at 1pm in the church. Parishioners are invited to call the office to get an appointment for an interview and place in our Baptism class which is held on the 3rd Sunday of every month in our Parish Center after attendance at the 11am Mass. There will be a special pew in the church reserved for these newest members of the parish. Call 310/ with questions. This is an important step in your relationship with your parish. RCIA OUR RCIA GROUP will continue next fall to meet on Mondays from 7-9pm. Call 310/ , if you are interested in joining to catch up on your faith, receive a sacrament you may have missed, or just want to have your faith renewed; you may sign up with the office for our fall sessions. All are welcome. The Confirmation and Youth Ministry programs are finished for this year. If you are interested, please go to confirmationvc@gmail.com. This is a two year formation program and the new sessions will begin in the fall. Watch for sign up times in the bulletin or check with Geremy. COMMUNITY INFORMATION THE POPE S CHOIR FIRST-EVER U.S. NATIONAL TOUR Tickets for the Sistine Chapel Choir s first-ever performance in Los Angeles are available now. The Pope s Choir from Rome will perform during their muchanticipated U.S. National Tour at Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on July 23, 2018 for one night only. We have forms in the church and church office and can show you the process and options. The convenience is great, no more trying to remember to bring the envelopes to church. Also if you miss the process of bringing an envelope and putting it in the collection, they will send you a card to drop in that says you give electronically. When you attend other churches while on vacation or out of town, you will have the peace of mind that Visitation will still get your donation. PAGE FOUR DID YOU KNOW? Practice fire safety in the home Developing a family fire plan for evacuation can save lives. Children should be a part of the planning, and should know which exits to use to get out of the house and where to meet once they are safely outside. Smoke detectors and fire extinguishers should also be part of your plan; children should know what to do if the smoke detector goes off, and older children should be taught how to use a fire extinguisher. MARGARET CENTER will be held next weekend. They need rice, pasta and cooking oil. Canned meat and vegetables are in short supply and breakfast cereals and soup. We will also be collecting our MERCY BAGS for the homeless. St. Margaret s Center now offers a weekly bus service with a portable shower and can use these mercy bags with razors, shaving cream, soap, shampoo, conditioner, toothbrushes, toothpaste, combs, and a pair of socks. We thank you for your generosity. Last month we collected 80 mercy bags! This is the highest collection since the first month we started collecting. You are generous and we appreciate it so very much. WE SHARE THEIR GRIEF Visitation Parish Community extends its sympathy and prayers to the family and friends of Jeanne Murphy, mother of Dianne Savage and grandmother to Connor Savage. May the souls of all the faithful departed rest in peace.
