Please join them in the Parish Center for Coffee & Treats. A Warm Thank You to the school parents of grade one and their families for hosting hospitality last weekend. Pray the Rosary on Thursdays at 11:00am with the Prayer Group. Meetings are held at the home of Beverly Razzeto. Please call 310/ for directions and/or information. As we are celebrating 75th anniversary of our parish, we need to take a moment to give special thanks to one of the shepherds who guided Visitation Parish through a very difficult moment in its history. As you know, following the death of Fr. Brelsford, Monsignor Hill came out of retirement to be the administrator of our parish for that painful year. During that time he shepherded our parish well. He embodies the words of today s Gospel. I am the good shepherd, and I know my sheep and mine know me, just as the Father knows me and I know the Father; and I will lay down my life for the sheep. 4 FOURTH SUNDAY OF EASTER SESSIONS OF FAITH Parish Religious Education Program (PREP) is for students in first grade through middle school and includes Sacrament preparation, and Baptism for unbaptized children. Classes are held on Sundays from 9:15 am 10:45 am. For more information, please contact Father Tim McGowan at 310/ or Debra Evans at Religious New sessions will start in September. You may sign up for classes soon. BAPTISM The Sacrament of Baptism is celebrated on the 4th Saturday of every month at 1pm in the church. Parishioners are invited to call the office to get an appointment for an interview and place in our Baptism class which is held on the 3rd Sunday of every month in our Parish Center after attendance at the 11am Mass. There will be a special pew in the church reserved for these newest members of the parish. Call 310/ with questions. This is an important step in your relationship with your parish. RCIA OUR RCIA GROUP will continue next fall to meet on Mondays from 7-9pm. Call 310/ , if you are interested in joining to catch up on your faith, receive a sacrament you may have missed, or just want to have your faith renewed; you may sign up with the office for our fall sessions. All are welcome. The Confirmation and Youth Ministry programs are currently in progress. If you are interested, please go to confirmationvc@gmail.com. This is a two year formation program and the new sessions will begin in the fall. COMMUNITY INFORMATION MEN S CORNERSTONE RETREAT Visitation Church s Annual Men s Cornerstone Retreat will be Fri. April 27 th 6pm to Saturday evening April 28 th here on our parish campus. DID YOU KNOW? 2018 Working Together to Prevent Child Sexual Abuse Brochure The Office of Safeguard the Children annually publishes the Working Together to Prevent Child Sexual Abuse brochure, which provides an up-to-date listing of the policies, programs, resources, contact numbers and other important information on how the Archdiocese of Los Angeles is working to prevent child sexual abuse. Copies of the 2018 brochures are available in the parish vestibule or visit: protecting/safeguard/pages/ CAPM.aspx. THE POPE S CHOIR FIRST-EVER U.S. NATIONAL TOUR Tickets for the Sistine Chapel Choir s first-ever performance in Los Angeles are available now. The Pope s Choir from Rome will perform during their muchanticipated U.S. National Tour at Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on July 23, 2018 for one night only. PAGE FOUR Threads of Our Lives: A Quilted Journey, Wednesday, May 9 ~ Wednesday May 16, 2018 Opening Reception May 9, 7pm with Dr. Thomas Hedberg Exhibit open daily 9am -10pm The remarkable quilts in this exhibit are the incredible art of Betsy Caprio Hedberg, a Jungian Therapist, Spiritual Director, a prolific and published spiritual writer. The selection of hand made quilts are loaned to us by her husband Dr. Thomas Hedberg. Not your ordinary quilt show, the quilts on display are paired with Betsy s original writings on the journey of the soul as told through the language and metaphor of the art of quilt making. The exhibit will begin with an evening reception, May 9, an opportunity to gather with Dr. Thomas Hedberg and the Mary & Joseph Quilters. Light refreshments will be served. As we gather to view the quilts, Dr. Thomas Hedberg will share the insights and wisdom of this incredible woman of faith. Betsy passed away in March 2016, but her grace and her love of using art to explore the spiritual life of the soul continues to inspire and challenge us. This exhibit will be open to view for a full week. Walk through at your own pace or call the Center to request a docent. Cost: Donation. Bishop Fulton Sheen, whose cause for sainthood is in process, continues to influence American Catholics. Alexis Walkenstein, evangelist, radio show host and editor of the newly released book, Fulton J. Sheen, will lead this retreat, based on the words of Bishop Sheen.
