The beloved as well as the stranger. Room enough for his occasionally unsteady apostles: the ambitious James and John. The fearful Peter. The doubting Thomas. Plenty good room.

Room enough for murderous Sadducees, for the repentant thief crucified alongside him. Room enough for His mother standing beneath the cross.

Is where I am enough for all to share? So, unless I plan on climbing back into bed and pulling the covers over my head for the rest of the day (which, by the way, is always a good idea!

Is there, in your heart, room enough for others to find welcome? One thing you can say about Jesus; He had plenty of room in his heart for everybody. Friend as well as foe. The beloved as well as the stranger. Room enough for his occasionally unsteady apostles: the ambitious James and John. The fearful Peter. The doubting Thomas. Plenty good room. Room enough for the woman caught in adultery, for hated tax collectors, for the imperious Roman centurion whose beloved paralyzed slave was suffering terribly. Plenty good room. Room enough for murderous Sadducees, for the repentant thief crucified alongside him. Room enough for His mother standing beneath the cross. Where He was in His life, in the home of Pharisees, on the road to Capernaum, in the temple precincts in Jerusalem, in a boat out on a stormy lake, there was always enough room. What about me? Is where I am enough for all to share? So, unless I plan on climbing back into bed and pulling the covers over my head for the rest of the day (which, by the way, is always a good idea!) I am going to encounter a score of people today. At home. At work. In the school yard. At drop off and pick up. In the classroom. In the grocery store. Driving down Manchester Blvd. So as I begin this day, as I begin every day, may my morning prayer be, Father, today may there be room enough in my life for all. 4 SECOND SUNDAY OF ADVENT SESSIONS OF FAITH PREP Parish Religious Education Program (PREP) is for students in first grade through middle school and includes Sacrament preparation, and Baptism for unbaptized children. Classes for students of all abilities are held on Sundays from 9:15am 10:45am at Visitation School. Please visit the Parish Website to complete an application on-line or download an application. For more information, please contact Debra or phone/ text 703/ BAPTISM The Sacrament of Baptism is celebrated on the 4th Saturday of most months at 1pm in the church. Parishioners are invited to call the office to get an appointment for an interview and place in our Baptism class which is held on the Sunday before the baptism in our Parish Center and includes attendance at the 11am Mass. There will be a special pew in the church reserved for these newest members of the parish. Call 310/ with questions. CONFIRMATION AND YOUTH MINISTRY CONFIRMATION and Youth Ministry programs have started. RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) may be just for you. RCIA is for someone who: Is interested in becoming Catholic. Was never baptized. Was baptized in another Christian denomination. Was baptized Catholic, but never celebrated the Sacraments of Eucharist or Confirmation. Is interested in catching up on or renewing their faith. CHRISTMAS GIVING TREE Please return the giving tree gifts this weekend to church or during the week to the church office. The Christmas Party for the families of St. Margaret Center will be held on Dec 15th. Please bring them on time so they will make it for the party. We are one of the main parishes that contributes to this program and we are depended upon to do our part. A big thank you to everyone who has taken an ornament from the tree and returned the gifts. You cannot know what joy you bring to these families who could not celebrate Christmas without your help. VISITATION SCHOOL CHRISTMAS WRAPPING - On Sunday, Dec 16 from 8am-1pm in the Parish Center, school parents and students will be wrapping your Christmas gifts at no charge. The wrapping paper, boxes and ribbon will be supplied by them. Any donations will be accepted and all donations will be given to the Renew Visitation Program. Bring your gifts and leave the wrapping to them!! PAGE FOUR COMMEMORATIVE PAVERS are on sale and you may go online and order them at visitationchurchla.com for the price of $500 each. We have order forms in the rectory if you would like to purchase them there and in the school as well. OneLife LA is an annual walk for life and event celebrating the beauty of every human life from conception to natural death. The Walk will be held on Saturday, January 19 from 12pm -2pm: Walk one mile from La Placita/ Olvera Street to LA State Historic Park 2-4pm: Speakers, live music, food trucks, works of mercy and 5pm Requiem Mass for the Unborn at the Cathedral of Our Lady Queen of Angels. Hope for Troubled Marriages Retrouvaille (REH-tro-v-eye) is a peer marriage ministry program that has helped thousands of married couples who are experiencing disillusion or misery in their marriage.
