Recently, you have heard and read about one aspect of this process: The Parish Survey. This tool will provide a clearer picture of who we are as a parish and what directions might be important for our future especially our five year plan. Each parish member, high school age or older, is asked to complete the survey. Your response is very important to us. The survey will be conducted between August 15th and September 15th. You will be able to complete a survey online or by filling out a hard copy. To receive updated information about the parish please share your address with us if we don t already have it. 3 Page 2 STEWARDSHIP A DISCIPLE S RESPONSE Thank you for all your gifts! Please remember your parish in your will. We will now be reporting stewardship contributions on a monthly basis. Please check the bulletin for the previous month s Stewardship contribution totals on the first Sunday of each month. Jesus tells us and his disciples, that nothing must encumber us in our mission to live Christian lives. As Christians stewards our mission is to be generous and thankful. ONLINE GIVING AND ELECTRONIC TRANSFER Online Giving and EFT (Electronic Fund Transfer) are both easy! For ONLINE GIVING, please go to our website, and scroll down the page and click on online giving. Using this feature you can contribute once, or set-up recurring donations for Sunday giving. Donations can be made via your checking or savings account. For EFT (Electronic Fund Transfer) Please contact the Parish Office for a EFT contribution form to fill out and return along with a voided check. FIFTEENTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME PARISH OPPORTUNITIES COVERED WITH LOVE QUILTERS July 19 from 9am 4pm A en on Quilters: Covered with Love Quilters will gather on Saturday, July 19 from 9am-4pm at Our Lady of Fa ma Parish Center. This is an ecumenical quil ng group whose quilts have covered children from Nepal to Romania to Uganda to Peru with love. Please join us. Bring your sewing machine, supplies, a dish to share, and most of all yourself. Fabric is provided. (If you have surplus fabric, you can bring that, too) Contact Pat Slusser if you have any ques ons. Please join us for Coffee Hour after both Sunday Masses with your fellow parishioners for great conversation PLUS coffee, juice and donuts! This Sunday s Coffee hours are hosted by: Bill & Lisa Blau. Two families or groups of friends can host together! Please contact the parish office if you can help or FAMILY VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY Did you know that every night hundreds of homeless families in King County search for a place to stay? The lucky ones find refuge at emergency shelters across the city. The newest shelter, a joint effort of UGM and Mary's Place, is seeking volunteers to provide dinner to the 48 women and children each evening. This is an ideal project for two families to work together to purchase, prepare and serve the meal at the shelter. Children of all ages can participate. Needed: Sandwiches, single served canned meats, puddings, fruits & juices (bottled, canned & pouches) contact the parish office for more information BALLARD FOOD BANK HELPING OUR NEIGHBORS Please donate your non-perishable canned and packaged food items to the marked box in the Parish Center. Thank you! More than 1,400 Ballard, Magnolia and Queen Anne households receive food, hygiene items, or emergency financial help each week for the Ballard Food Bank. We re there to meet our neighbors basic needs. Did you know? in 2013 the Ballard Food Bank distributed 1.45 million pounds of food 24% of our food recipients are elderly and 15% are children Our food comes from a variety of sources including local grocery stores, private donations, and the government. The vast majority of the Ballard Food Bank s funding comes from neighborhood donors and local small businesses. We also provide our clients with mail box services.
