This is the largest effort in the en re country in support of Catholic ministries and services. This year s theme is Tell Your Story. The video in our ves bule of church features story a er story of the bold witness of generosity and mercy, sacrifice and charity, love and joy. This Annual Catholic Appeal calls us to remember the vast array of ministries and services that are offered each and every day not only to Catholics, but to the en re popula on here in the Archdiocese of St. Louis, as a result of funding from the Annual Catholic Appeal. The ACA assists and supports families, like many of our own parishioners, with tui on assistance as well as educa onal grants to schools each year. By total parish census, Holy Infant is one of the largest parishes in the Archdiocese, and we are asked to support the broader mission of our local Church. If you are able to make a pledge to the ACA this year, but have not yet done so, I ask that you kindly fill out your pledge card in the Upper Cafeteria a er Mass this weekend. Please, let s all pray for the wellbeing and the growth of our Catholic community here in the Archdiocese. On another note, this Friday, May 11 th, we are delighted to welcome Msgr. Dennis Stehly, the Vicar General from the Archdiocese of St. Louis who will be with 128 of our eighth grade students as they celebrate the Sacrament of Confirma- on. Our students have been well prepared and are ready to present themselves for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit. Please remember all of the young people in our community in your prayers. Finally, congratula ons to Tony Dukart from Kenrick-Glennon Seminary who was recently installed as an acolyte. You will find his picture in this weekend s bulle n. It s been a real joy having Tony Dukart, Paul Sappington and Deacon Taylor Leffler with us this past year! They are fine young men! As you know, they are all in forma on at Kenrick-Glennon Seminary. This is their final weekend here at Holy Infant. They have been involved in many ministries in our parish including working with our young people in youth ministry, giving presenta- ons and, of course, Deacon Taylor preaching excellent homilies week a er week. I know that I speak in the name of the en re parish in thanking them for their goodness to our parish family! So many of us have been touched by their kindness, compassion and enthusiasm! Pledge cards will be available in the Upper Cafeteria after all Masses this weekend. During the Christmas season, we received a call from a family in the parish. The husband had lost his job. He had a lead on a job, but it wouldn't start un l a er Christmas. They were able to pay rent and u li es, but had no extra money for food or presents for the children. St. Vincent de Paul gave the family $500 in gi cards. The wife was so surprised by the amount that she could only cry! They didn't need any addi onal help. They just needed a small amount, but it made a big difference! If you are in need of help or know someone in need, please call (314) , mailbox Leave us a message. 6 experienced! Angel Corp Upcoming Meeting The Angel Corp will be meeting this Wednesday! Holy Infant Angel Corp volunteers minister to parishioners who are homebound and unable to attend Mass because of illness, disability or age. Volunteers bring Holy Communion and pray with sick or elderly parishioners. The Angel Corp will meet Wednesday May 9th at 7 pm in the Lower Cafeteria at Holy Infant. The meeting is for all volunteers - new and The meeting includes a commissioning and tutorial for bringing Holy Communion to the homebound! There will also be time to discuss general information and any questions and comments. Please try to attend this important meeting! Next Bingo: June 16 A note from the Holy Infant Knights of Columbus Council.Most of you are familiar with the Holy Infant Knights of Columbus Council. We are involved with various Parish events, fund raisers, food drives, tui on assistance and other ac vi es. In August of 2011, The Free Women's Center opened in Waynesville, Missouri. Our Knights Council funded an ultrasound machine, the training to operate the unit and some furnishings for the facility. The ultrasound facility is named a er our Holy Infant Council. The Center provides free counseling and ultrasound services to any pregnant woman in need. Some simply want to check the status of their pregnancy and can't afford to go to a doctor. Since October 2011, 504 ultrasounds have been performed. Of that total, 204 were for women "at risk" of having an abor on. A er the ultrasound and counseling 197 (97%) of them decided to have their babies. That is equal to approximately 8 classrooms at Holy Infant School. Due to its success, the Center has tripled in volume and is planning to double in size, add a Maternity Home and operate a mobile ultrasound unit from May through October. The Center is a great success and the Knights are proud to con nue to be involved. If this is the kind of project you would like to be involved in or if you have any ques ons please contact us.
