I received the le er below from the Office of the Permanent Diaconate in the Archdiocese of St. Louis. Men of the parish who would be interested in exploring the possibility of a Permanent Diaconate voca on are encouraged to a end informa onal mee ngs to hear more about the life, role and forma on of Permanent Deacons in the Archdiocese of St Louis. The informa onal mee ngs will be held on Tuesday, October 23, and Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at 7:00 pm at the Cardinal Rigali Center. The focus of these mee ngs is to provide informa on and material to men interested in exploring a voca on to the Permanent Diaconate and applying to enter the five (5) year Forma on Program in September 2019 with an cipated ordina on in June of During the mee ng, me will be provided for ques ons and answers. Deacons and men currently in forma on will be available a er the mee ng for addi onal conversa- ons. Spouses of interested men are strongly encouraged to a end the mee ng with their husbands. For considera on to join the class of 2024, men must be between the ages of 30 (by May 1, 2019) and 60 (over age 60 if in good health by appeal to the Archbishop), a permanent resident in the Archdiocese of St. Louis for at least 3 years, be in a valid marriage of at least 5 years (if married), ac ve and in good standing with the Church and their parish, be in good health and be free of any canonical impediments. The educa- onal courses are taught at the college level. While men with college degrees are encouraged to a end, those without college level experience are also encouraged to apply. It is expected that men entering the program will have basic computer, word processing and internet skills. More detailed informa on on the specific admission requirements will be presented during the Informa onal Mee ngs. This special Mass allows us to give thanks for those we have lost during the past year. Moving through a me of loss can be difficult, lonely and sad. We want those who have experienced loss to know that as part of our Holy Infant family, we mourn with them. 9 Ministry of the Month: Music Ministry Holy Infant invites you to see what the Music Ministry is all about! Please join us in song through one or more of the opportunities offered at our parish. During October, members of our Music Ministry will be on display in the vestibule to answer any questions and to show you the importance of praying through singing! New members are always welcome to any of these music ministries: The Holy Infant Choir sings weekly at the 10:15 Mass (September through Corpus Christi, including Midnight Christmas Mass and Holy Week). The Choir features a diverse repertoire of choral singing and instrumentalists. Rehearsals are held every Wednesday from 7:00-8:30 pm. The Joyful Noise Choir sings on the 2 nd and 4 th Sunday of the month at the 8:30 Mass, September through May, Christmas Eve, and Holy Week. Rehearsals are the 2 nd and 4 th Thursdays at 7 pm. Additional rehearsals are held before major Holy Days. The Noon Mass Band sings weekly at the Noon Mass. This band of piano, guitars, violin, drums and vocals leads worship with contemporary Christian music. They practice on Sunday morning before Mass. If interested, please see the band after the Noon Mass. The Resurrection Choir sings for all Masses of Christian Burial at the parish. The Choir prays and sings with those gathered in a loving offering to God on behalf of and for our parishioners. Cantors are present to help lead congregational singing at all Masses and are especially needed on Saturday evenings, Sundays, Holy Days, etc. Instrumentalists Are always welcome to our liturgies. Anyone interested in sharing his or her talents is welcome to contact the Rectory office, or any of the choirs listed above.
