Why are we offering a series on God s love? Many people are experiencing conflict with friends, family, co-workers and neighbors over the numerous difficult issues facing our country. This is an important me to reflect on and prac ce the principles of our faith regarding love of God and love of others, the two great commandments. Even if we are not engaged in these dialogs, we face the challenges of youth, family life, being the breadwinner of our household, caring for elderly parents, being a single adult, facing issues of re rement or fragile health and more. We gather to remember that God s love is reckless and will sustain us. We also gather to remember the kind of love we must give to others, even those with whom we strongly disagree.
