1 AP European History Summer Assignment Dear AP Student: In preparation for the coming school year I would like you to complete the following assignments over the summer. For some of you this is your first AP course you have ever taken, but with hard work and study you will do great. This hard work starts this summer. The purpose of the assignment is to lay the foundation for the first unit and subsequent units throughout the year. The summer assignment is due the first day of school, August 20, Late assignments will not be accepted. You will have a test over you summer assignment (vocab, maps, chapter 2) the first week of school. This will be your first test grade and tests count three times in the grade book. Each assignment is worth a separate quiz grade. Quizzes, in the grade book, count two times. These will be the first assignment grades of the first six weeks. By choosing not to do the assignment could result in not passing the first six weeks. As part of AP European History, I would like you to obtain a copy of this book. It is called AP European History: An Essential Coursebook 2 rd edition by Ethel Wood. We will be using it as a supplemental text this year. It is a fabulous review guide for the AP European History Exam. You can find the book on Amazon. If you would like to purchase other study guides for the course here are a few to choose from. These practice books will help you study for the AP exam in May. It is recommended that you purchase some of these books, but due to financial hardships it is understandable if you cannot.
