2 Welcome to St Giles We are a growing community of people of all backgrounds and all ages, and we are convinced that God wants to do great things here in West Bridgford, in Nottingham, and beyond. If you would like more information about who we are, what we do and what s going on - then please speak to whoever is leading today s service, and help yourself to the cards in the information carousels one by the coffee hatch and one near the front door. Soon after the start of the service, our children & youth groups begin: Sunbeams (ages 2½ - 4½) & Junior Church (primary age) meet in the church hall (please remember to collect your child from the hall if they ve no been brought back to you by the time the service ends!) Youth gather by the front door and then go over to Lutterell Hall across the road At the rear of church is The Haven, a glazed (but not soundproofed!) room where parents can take unsettled babies or children who are too young to join the children s groups. The church hall can be found through the rear doors of the church. In the hall you will find toilets and baby changing facilities. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age Revision of the Electoral Roll The Electoral Roll is the church's membership list and register of electors. You need to be on it to attend the Annual Parochial Church Meeting (AGM) on Sunday 29th April and to vote in elections to the Parochial Church Council (PCC) and Deanery Synod. If you wish to stand for election to either of these bodies you must have been on the Electoral Roll for not less than six months, you must be over 16 and you must be an 'actual communicant' as defined in rule 54(1) of the Church Representation Rules. From Sunday 25 th March there will be a board in church with the names of the people on the current Electoral Roll so that you can check that you are on it. If not, and you are over 15, please fill in an application form. One side of the form is the application for enrolment, the other is for additional voluntary information to help us if we need to contact you. Next year we will need to compile a completely new electoral roll and everybody will be required to fill in an application form. If anybody on the list has moved or died in the last year please tell Richard Crawley. For further information, contact Richard on or richard.crawley1@gmail.com. Calling all Cricketers! Well, the daffs are just about blooming and it's time to turn our minds to the main sporting event of the summer - the annual slog against the Holy Spirit Church. We have just one game this year, on Sunday 1 st July (2pm). If you would like to play, please contact Matt Keown on or speak to him in church all standards are very welcome, and most especially if you re new to St Giles!

If you would like to get involved in the fundraising effort for Christian Aid in May then please do speak to Rachel Gregory after the 9am service on Sundays. or or Please continue to bring your donations into church (box near the front door) or take them to the Friary at their depot at Unit 6C Ludlow Hill Road, NG2 6HF (Tue & Thu 10am 3pm). Co-op Membership Supports the Friary The Friary is a selected charity of the Co-op Membership Scheme 2017/18. Every time you choose selected Co-op branded products and services the Friary can benefit. If you are a Co-op member earn points for you and funds for the Friary by visiting: to select your charity. From the Friends International Prayer Diary: Every year some 4,000 people attend the Word Alive conference, including a huge number of university students. This year s event, 7th 12th April, will as usual have a dedicated gathering and teaching series for international students, organised by Friends International and OMF. Please pray for this year s conference and for the international students who will attend. Pray that their hearts would be open to receive and that the non-christians would come to a clear understanding of the truth during the week.
8 Collect: Gracious Father, you gave up your Son out of love for the world: lead us to ponder the mysteries of his passion, that we may know eternal peace through the shedding of our Saviour s blood, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. Prayer after Communion: Lord Jesus Christ, you humbled yourself in taking the form of a servant, and in obedience died on the cross for our salvation: give us the mind to follow you and to proclaim you as Lord and King, to the glory of God the Father.
