3 Weekly Collections 18 February 2018 Loose Plate Gift Aid Bishop Mark s Visitation 3/4 th March We welcome Bishop Mark into our community this weekend as he makes his visitation to our Parish. May his time with us be fruitful. Cheese & Biscuits and Fairtrade wine will be served in St Agatha s Hall after the 6pm Mass. Your chance to meet the Bishop. All Welcome. Looking at the Gospel During Lent We will be looking at the Gospels during Lent. The reflections will take place on Wednesday afternoons at 2pm at OLSP Church, 28/2, 7/3, 14/3, 21/3. Please pray for the repose of the soul of Mrs Afife-Affat who has died. Her Funeral Mass will take place at 10 am on 8 March at Our Lady & St Patrick s Church. First Holy Communion 24 June 2018 The following are the dates for meetings for children who would like to make their First Holy Communion next year. Children s Meetings 10 March noon 14 April noon 12 May noon 9 June noon All meetings will take place in the Parish Office at Our Lady & St Patrick s Church unless notified otherwise. Family Fast Day Friday 23 rd February There will be a retiring collection after all Masses today for CAFOD Family Fast Day. Please be as generous as you can.

4 Pop up Shop for Mother s Day We will be selling gifts suitable as Mother s Day gifts in aid of CAFOD on Sunday 4 th March at OLSP. These are things that we have made in the craft group such as brooches and candles in tea cups, all for a reasonable price that the children can buy as a gift for their mum. Save your spending until then! Marcia CELEBRATE FAIR TRADE FORTNIGHT St Agatha s Hall Saturday 3 rd March pm Fun for all the family, crafts, games, baking, refreshments and a Fairtrade shop. The school will taking part in Fairtrade Fortnight by holding a Fair Trade Breakfast am on 8 March in the School Hall organised by Mrs Grout and Year 5. Fairtrade Fortnight 2018 Fairtrade Fortnight 2018 runs from 26 February 11 March and this year we d like you to join us in supporting farmers and workers who grow our food. With Fairtrade we have the power to change the world every day. Fairtrade opens doors. Come on in Fairtrade Fortnight aims to put a spotlight on trade. When trade is fair it has the potential to improve the lives of the farmers and workers who grow our food. When trade is fair, it can make the world a better place. Together we have that power, so get involved and be part of the difference. It s a shocking fact that millions of poor farmers who produce the food we love still don t earn enough to feed their own families. It s time for this injustice to end. Through

5 Fairtrade, millions of poor farmers and workers are already coming together to demand a change. They are working hard to close the door on exploitation and transform their communities supported by Fair trade. There are loads of ways that you can get involved. More information on line. Teignmouth Christian Aid Lent Lunches at Teignmouth Methodist Church on Fridays 12 noon 1.15pm 2 March St James 9 March Methodist Church 16 March The URC 23 March The Baptist Church On 16 February it was the turn of Our Lady & St Patrick s Church to provide the first of this year s Friday Lent Lunches at Teignmouth Methodist Hall. As usual, ladies from our CWL stepped up to the mark and offered a choice of four different delicious home-made soups to over 50 satisfied diners, and raised 140 for Christian Aid! The next CWL get-together will be on Thursday 1 March we meet in OLSP church at 2.00 pm and, for those who can t get there in the afternoon, we re there in the evening from 7.00 pm Our meetings are very informal so, if you d like to make new friends or just join us for a cup of tea/coffee and a chat, why not come along? You don t have to be a Catholic to join but you do have to be a woman!!!

Diocesan Pilgrimage to the Holy Land February 2019 Bookings are coming in for this pilgrimage to be led by Bishop Mark from the February next year. Completed booking forms and deposits need to be received before the 18 th April this year.
