Alison M Taylor We have come together to meet with God, to offer Him our worship, praise and thanksgiving and at this time to gather as the St Hilda s School community to welcome and commission Dr Julie Wilson Reynolds as Principal of our School. I invite you now to pray for the blessing of Almighty God on the life and work of Julie and on the whole School. Heavenly Father, We thank you for the founding of this School, for the benefits we have received from those who have gone before us, and we pray that we may faithfully carry forward the work so well begun. Give us wisdom and understanding. As we listen to your Word, may we know you better, love you more, and learn to please you in all we do, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Alexandra Frizelle: School Captain Reading: Ephesians 3:14-19 For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. 4 The Commissioning Professor Susan Brandis: Chairman of Council Bishop Alison, the School Council has invited Dr Julie Wilson Reynolds to be Principal of St Hilda s School. This decision has been endorsed widely and warmly by members of the School community. I present her to you to be commissioned as the Principal of St Hilda s School. Julie, do you, in the presence of the School community, commit yourself to this trust and responsibility? Dr Julie Wilson Reynolds: I do, with God s help. My brothers and sisters, will you support, encourage and uphold Dr Wilson Reynolds in this ministry of leadership in this School? We will, with God s help. Leukie Smith: Elloise Campbell: Dr Wilson Reynolds will now be presented with symbols representing the St Hilda s School community. School Sports Captain: A Bible and Candle Dr Wilson Reynolds, please accept this Bible and Candle. May they both serve to remind you of the light of Christ and be a lantern for your feet. Head Day Girl: A Prayer Book Dr Wilson Reynolds, please accept this Prayer Book. May the prayers from this book and the people of God surround you and sustain you in all that you do. Mr David Lyon: Head of Curriculum and Innovation: Georgia Bos: Year 1: School Badges and a Pen Dr Wilson Reynolds, on behalf of all the staff and students, we ask you to accept the School badges and a pen as symbols of the students and staff of St Hilda s. May you come to know our staff and the girls, may you nurture and care for them as they grow in knowledge and wisdom. 5 Miss Georgia Frizelle: Alexandra Frizelle: Representative of St Hilda s Old Girls Association: An Ammonite Dr Wilson Reynolds, on behalf of the Old Girls of St Hilda s, the St Hilda s support groups and all our parents, I present you with this ammonite, representing St Hilda and the traditions of the School. May your vision for our School cherish our past, guide the present and look to the future. School Captain We offer these symbols as expressions of all that for which our School stands. We ask you to accept them in love and know that in our shared journey, we will work together for the good of all at St Hilda s. Dr Julie Wilson Reynolds: I give thanks for God s goodness. I pledge to devote my time and my energy to those placed in my care and to all members of the School community. I willingly accept the gifts you have offered and will seek to do all that I can to nurture and foster the spiritual, academic and cultural life of our School. I ask God s help in fulfilling the trust you have placed in me. Julie, you have been duly chosen and accepted by this community as Principal of St Hilda s. You have pledged to be diligent and faithful in the execution of your duties and to seek God s help in fulfilling them. May the Lord who has given you the will to do these things, grant you grace and power faithfully to fulfil them. I commission you as Principal of St Hilda s School, in the name of the Father, and of the Son and the Holy Spirit. May the God of Peace, who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you what is pleasing in his sight and the blessing of God Almighty, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, be upon you and remain with you always. 6 The Sending Out of God s People Father Patrick Duckworth: Chaplain Let us join together in the prayer which Jesus gave us: Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us. Save us from the time of trial and deliver us from evil. For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours now and forever. Father Patrick Duckworth: Almighty God, Who commanded us to love with all our mind: look with your gracious favour, we pray, on our School dedicated in the name of St Hilda. Bless those who teach and those who learn, and those who work to support and to maintain the School. Grant that all may seek and love the truth, grow in wisdom and knowledge, and in humility of heart ever look to you, the source of all wisdom and understanding. Lord in your mercy, Hear our prayer. Junior School Vice Captain May we work for peace and harmony. May we keep the needs of the School ever before us and may we rely always on your help and presence. Lord in your mercy, Hear our prayer. Faithful God, you have promised to hear the prayers of all who ask in Jesus name. In your mercy, accept our prayers. Grant what we have asked in faith, according to your will; through Jesus Christ our Lord. The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious unto you. The Lord lift up his countenance upon you, and give you peace.

During the Recessional, the Bishop, accompanied by the Chairman of Council, the Principal and the Chaplain, will lead the Staff and Official Guests from the Sports Complex. Following the Service, morning tea will be served to guests in the Bev Philben Room.
