Registered membership in the parish and attendance at a Baptism Class are required for all parents prior to their first child s Baptism. Holy Communion A two-year required sacramental preparation process begins in the first grade. It culminates in the celebration of First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion in the second grade. Confirmation A two-year required sacramental preparation process begins in the seventh grade. It culminates in the celebration of Confirmation. Matrimony A six-month required sacramental preparation process begins when the engaged couple meets with the priest or deacon and culminates in the couple s exchange of consent on their wedding day. Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) A one-year process for preparation and study is required for all those interested in becoming Catholic. 2 LA ESPERANZA Y PROMESA DE REDENCIÓN El profeta Jeremías anuncia el fin del exilio en Babilonia. Describe cómo los débiles y los tristes ahora regresarán con alegría. Éste es el pueblo dispersado de Dios: los ciegos y cojos; preñadas y paridas. Serán guiados por un camino llano para que nadie tropiece. La bondad y misericordia del Señor están con este pueblo débil y deshecho. Aquí y en el Salmo 126 (125) encontramos imágenes poéticas extremadamente hermosas del amor y cuidado que Dios tiene por nosotros. Los que sembraban con lágrimas, / cosechan entre cantares. Al ir, iba llorando, / llevando la semilla; / al volver, vuelve cantando, / trayendo sus gavillas (Salmo 126[125]:5-6). Si bien Dios tuvo que castigar a Israel por sus muchos pecados, nunca se olvidó de ellos aun cuando estaban dispersos, y los llevó de regreso a la tierra de sus ancestros para que prosperaran y fueran felices de nuevo. HOW TO REQUEST A MASS INTENTION Those wishing to honor a loved one during the celebration of Mass for the living or the deceased, or for prayerful remembrance of anniversaries, birthdays, and other special intentions may call or visit the office. Masses are usually scheduled months in advance, so if there is a particular date on which you want the Mass Intention, please make the request well ahead of time. The suggested stipend for each Mass is $5.00. It provides an opportunity to retreat from your daily life to spend time with God and other Catholic men. The Weekend begins on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at Cliffview in Lancaster, KY and ends on Sundayaround 7-8 p.m. Father John Moriarty with Deacons Bill Wakefield and Ted Fraebel are our spiritual advisors and the Lay Rector is Frank Burke, MD, St Elizabeth Ann Seton parishioner. One must be Catholic to attend and participate in the Sacraments (i.e., reconciliation and Eucharist at Mass). The Weekend cost is $200 for a double room and all meals. For those with medical needs a private room is available for $300. Requests for Scholarships are welcome for anyone needing financial assistance. Each candidate is sponsored before and after the Weekend.A sponsor is one who has already attended a Cursillo Weekend and is available for you before to answer any questions and after to share your Cursillo Weekend experience.we can find someone in your parish who can sponsor you when you choose to attend a Cursillo Weekend. Candidate and sponsor applications are lexingtoncursillo. Both applications are to be completed according to instructions on the forms. Transportation from Pax Christi Catholic Church in Lexington at 5 p.m. to Cliffview on Thursday evening will be provided. HELP -- HELP -- HELP The St. Andrew Christmas Bazaar is ONLY one month away, November 16 & 17. We want to make this years SILENT AUCTION a tremendous success. We are in desperate need of additional silent auction items. Past items have included: those store purchased, handcrafted items, tickets to events, gift certificates, services or goods or personal items. PRAYER SERVICE FOR HENRY AND HIS FAMILY Every Monday 5:15-6:00 PM (until further notice) in the Eucharistic Chapel Please come if you can but if you can t make it, we ask that you take a time out wherever you may be and pray for the Gagnon Family and Henry as he battles cancer for the second time. The Gagnon s have found a very holy man who needs a miracle to be canonized a saint. His name is Blessed John Licci. God preformed many miracles through him while he lived 111 years on Earth. He is the patron for head injuries as well. Just as the Gagnon s have ask for all our intercessions on behalf of Henry, they will be praying for the Blessed John Licci s intercession that God may completely heal Henry. In order for Blessed John Licci to be canonized a saint, we can only ask for his intercession in the miraculous healing of Henry. No other saints, including Mother Mary, can be invoked while praying for Henry s healing. This ensures that only the miracle God has bestowed on Henry is through Blessed John Licci s intercession. Please join them! We need a miracle! Christmas Bazaar November 16 &17 The Christmas Bazaar is in need of handmade crafts and gently used Christmas memories.
