WEEKEND MASSES Sunday Mass - 7:15 AM HOLY DAY OF OBLIGATION Mass of the Day - 5:00 PM SACRAMENTS Baptism Baptism is celebrated after consultation with the parish staff as to date. Registered membership in the parish and attendance at a Baptism Class are required for all parents prior to their first child s Baptism. Holy Communion A two-year required sacramental preparation process begins in the first grade. It culminates in the celebration of First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion in the second grade. Confirmation A two-year required sacramental preparation process begins in the seventh grade. It culminates in the celebration of Confirmation. Matrimony A six-month required sacramental preparation process begins when the engaged couple meets with the priest or deacon and culminates in the couple s exchange of consent on their wedding day. Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) A one-year process for preparation and study is required for all those interested in becoming Catholic. La segunda lectura nos invita a reflexionar sobre ese llamado ya que se nos recuerda que hemos sido elegidos en Cristo y que, por amor, Dios nos eligió... para que fuéramos sus hijos (Efesios 1:5). Por ser hijos adoptivos de Dios se nos llama a llevar la presencia de Cristo a nuestro matrimonio, familiares, escuelas y sitios de trabajo. HOW TO REQUEST A MASS INTENTION Those wishing to honor a loved one during the celebration of Mass for the living or the deceased, or for prayerful remembrance of anniversaries, birthdays, and other special intentions may call or visit the office. Masses are usually scheduled weeks in advance, so if there is a particular date on which you want the Mass Intention, please make the request well ahead of time. The suggested stipend for each Mass is $5.00. Friday, August 3rd from 8-4 & Saturday, August 4th from 8-12 Time to clean out your closets. Donations for the annual parish rummage sale can be dropped off at the church during office hours or you can contact David Coleman. All proceeds benefit our youth group. 5 FIFTEENTH THIRTEENTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME TIME JULY JULY 7, 21, 2018 Pastor s Post by Father Al DeGiacomo On Sabbatical As you know, my sabbatical starts next Sunday, July 22, after Mass, and it ends on Saturday, December 1, with confessions and Mass for the Vigil of the First Sunday of Advent. While I am away, you will be well served for by our retired priests and other priests as necessary. Mary Jane was vigilant in engaging the services of these men weeks and months ago. You will note an insert in today s bulletin for your reference, detailing priest coverage during these next four months. During this sabbatical time, I will be in Guatemala, improving my Spanish conversation skills and in Rome, taking a course through the Continuing Education Office at the North American College, the American Seminary in Rome. Pray for me as I shall pray for all of you. I ll be home for Christmas! Praised be Jesus Christ. Now and Forever. Father Al It's that time of year again To start thinking about the Christmas Bazaar! We are in need of medium to large size baskets or decor boxes that can be used. Also start making those homemade crafts, we will need crafts this year! Items can be dropped off at church during office hours. Please volunteer so you will be ready to begin our Religious Education Program. Requirements are to be actively practicing Catholics, Safe Haven trained, and a desire to pass on your faith to our youth. We need three teachers for Pre-school/Kindergarten, four teachers for 1st grade and two teachers for 3rd and 4th grade. We would also appreciate parent aides for 2nd grade Sacramental Preparation (Reconciliation and Holy Communion). We will be registering students before and after Mass during the month of July. Please sign your child up ASAP so we will have books and supplies ready when they begin classes on August 26th. Orientation Breakfast will be held on August 12 for parents and children to meet catechists and to prepare parents for the coming year. We will have schedules and handbooks.

NEW MASS SETTINGS The Bishop has requested that new Mass settings be used at all bilingual Masses through out the Dioceses. Our first Mass using these new settings will be August 19 at the bilingual Mass for Confirmation. Please try to arrive a few minutes early to Mass for the next few weeks, so we can practice and get familiar with the new Mass settings.
