Registered membership in the parish and attendance at a Baptism Class are required for all parents prior to their first child s Baptism. Holy Communion A two-year required sacramental preparation process begins in the first grade. It culminates in the celebration of First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion in the second grade. Confirmation A two-year required sacramental preparation process begins in the seventh grade. It culminates in the celebration of Confirmation. Matrimony A six-month required sacramental preparation process begins when the engaged couple meets with the priest or deacon and culminates in the couple s exchange of consent on their wedding day. Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) A one-year process for preparation and study is required for all those interested in becoming Catholic. Masses are usually scheduled weeks in advance, so if there is a particular date on which you want the Mass Intention, please make the request well ahead of time. The suggested stipend for each Mass is $5.00.

College Street Friday, April 13 at 12:00 noon Opioid overdose continues to be a major public health problem in the United States. It has contributed significantly to accidental deaths of those who use or misuse illicit and prescription drugs. In fact, U.S. overdose deaths reached 64,000 about 175 per day in Community members can make a major contribution toward reducing the toll of opioid analgesics. Lunch will be provided. In my Christmas homily, I like to say that Christmas makes no sense apart from Easter. Christ the Light came into the world to die in order to save us from all that is worst in ourselves. Christ has conquered, the Exultet of the Easter Vigil proclaims, and Christ s Glory fills you, we hear. The Exultet tells us that Christ continually saves us from our weaknesses and failures, all that is sinful within us. We hear in the prophetic Scriptures, He shall purify (Malachi 3:3). That is Good News of the greatest magnitude. As Deacon Brian noted in his homily for the Fifth Sunday of Lent, none of us has yet experienced the fullness of the Resurrection so it can be difficult for us to comprehend this mystery. But we have hints of it whenever we are lifted, revived, or renewed by encouragement or hope in the midst of all our losses, all our griefs. Let us strain forward (Philippians 3:16), as St. Paul says, choosing the hope, peace and confidence that only the Risen Christ can give us! May we choose this Eastertide to recognize these risen moments in our lives for the Greater Glory of God. Alleluia! Fr.
