Registered membership in the parish and attendance at a Baptism Class are required for all parents prior to their first child s Baptism. Holy Communion A two-year required sacramental preparation process begins in the first grade. It culminates in the celebration of First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion in the second grade. Confirmation A two-year required sacramental preparation process begins in the seventh grade. It culminates in the celebration of Confirmation. Matrimony A six-month required sacramental preparation process begins when the engaged couple meets with the priest or deacon and culminates in the couple s exchange of consent on their wedding day. Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) A one-year process for preparation and study is required for all those interested in becoming Catholic. The 177 Project The Cathedral of Christ the King September 13th at 6 PM The 177 Project is an initiative from Adoration Artists designed to help spark a renewal in parishes across the country. We are firm believers in the power of spending time in front of the Eucharist and want to encourage that through a worshipful and entertaining evening. Over the course of three months, more than a dozen of the most talented artists in Catholic music will split up into teams of two and visit all 177 different dioceses within the US - including those in Alaska, Hawaii, and St. Thomas. De qué manera podemos usar nuestro tiempo, recursos o dones con fines desinteresados en vez de con el fin de obtener algún beneficio personal? HOW TO REQUEST A MASS INTENTION Those wishing to honor a loved one during the celebration of Mass for the living or the deceased, or for prayerful remembrance of anniversaries, birthdays, and other special intentions may call or visit the office. Masses are usually scheduled weeks in advance, so if there is a particular date on which you want the Mass Intention, please make the request well ahead of time. The suggested stipend for each Mass is $5.00. 4 Pastor s Post by Fr. Al De Giacomo Letter to the Confirmandi Father asked that this letter be read to the confirmandi before Mass this past Sunday. I send you prayers and blessings from Guatemala as you receive the Sacrament of Confirmation on Sunday-with all the seven gifts! I know it will be a beautiful day for you and for your families. When you meet with the Bishop John, remember to speak up and show him what you know. You will enjoy it and so will he! So don t be shy! All of us at Saint Andrew are very proud of you, and we look forward to you taking your places as adults in the Roman Catholic Church of Jesus Christ! And let s thank Mary Jane Trimble, Amy and Daniel Gagnon, Beth Boursaw and your families and sponsors, too, for all they have done to help you prepare for this great moment in your lives. For more information, contact Tony Dunbar at Wedding Anniversary Mass The Cathedral of Christ the King October 6, 2018 Mass at 5:00 Bishop s Annual Wedding Anniversary Celebration, for all couples having their 10th, 25th, 40th, 50th or 50th plus wedding anniversary in 2018, the Bishop will celebrate with you at the Cathedral of Christ the King on Saturday, October 6th. The event begins with Mass at 5:00 PM with Bishop John Stowe, OFM Conv. presiding, followed by a catered reception in Hehman Hall. Community Sing - Shaker Village At the Meeting House September 8, 10:30 AM-Noon The Community Sing at the Meeting House is a special event that will take place to celebrate the official reopening of the Meeting House.
