Cross Catholic Outreach Visi ng Priest Here May 26 & 27 Father Hilario Rivera from Cross Catholic Outreach will be here for all masses next weekend. Fr. Rivera was ordained in June 1976 in the Diocese of Caguas, Puerto Rico. He was commissioned as a missionary to the Diocese of San Cristobal de Las Casas in Chiapas, Mexico and served there 13 years. He served the indigenous popula on of the Choles and Tzeltal and learned to speak two Mayan dialects. He also served with El Salvador, Nicaragua, and Guatemala, including Guatemalan refugees. From there, Fr. joined the Diocese of Venice, FL. His 41 years of service, 32 years of which were in missions, along with his Degrees in Philosophy, Theology and Counseling, and his love for the poor, have led him to Cross Catholic Outreach. I consider being an Outreach Priest for Cross Catholic Outreach, a gi from God.

4 2018 Summer Voca ons Camps The Voca on Office of the Diocese of Savannah will once again host Voca ons Camps for Girls and Boys this upcoming summer 2018! Registra on Opens April 18, Space is very limited. Register soon at ons. Girl s Retreat/Chicas Retreat Young ladies from grades 7-12 are invited to embark on a journey to follow Jesus Sacred Heart. You will learn about holiness, grace, and prac cal methods to help you understand your rela onship with others and yourself. The retreat will be held on Saturday, June 16th from 9:30am-6:30pm at Lake Blackshear Resort (2459 US-280, Cordele, GA 31035). The cost is $15/young lady or $20/family. Lunch is included. The girl s talk will be in English. A parent s workshop will be in Spanish for any parents who a end. The parishioners and staff of St. Ma hew Church in Statesboro are offering a Memorial Mass for Fr. Smith on Thursday, June 21 at 12:00pm. Parishioners of the many parishes where he served are invited to a end. If you are not able to a end, please remember this good and faithful priest in your prayers.
